I’ll be the first to tell you I’m was never CuDi’s biggest fan. I even spoke against the quality of his debut album months ago. Over time, however, I’ve grown to appreciate the LP and respect the notion it’s certainly one of the better albums of 2009. “Pursuit Of Happiness” has even been on repeat for the past few weeks. What he may lack in actual rhyming skill, he more than makes up for with cadence and infectious melodies. Such is the case as with K.C.’s two-verse remix to UK electronica artist Dan Black’s first single, “Symphonies.” Sampling Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” the laid-back, yet triumphant feel of the record should garner a few spins on your iTunes.
With his showing here, CuDi once again proves he’s one of the doper feature artists in the game. Black’s North American album, UN, is set to hit shelves this summer.

I gotta be in the mood to listen to this dude.
“Mood” meaning high or drunk & depressed.
That being said, this song isn’t half bad.
Cudi did his thing on this… but I wish Puffy would’ve let Dan Black keep the original:

Yup. That’s HYPNOTIZE! lol
Cudi ain’t a emcee/rapper/spitta whatever term you choose to use. He’s great at harmonizing and crafting hooks to some degree, but his raps are a little frail.
^agreed
this is pretty damn fly too
aren’t those the drums to “Umbrella”?
superdope
does this sound terrible coming out of itunes for anyone else?
I think I read that he did use the “Umbrella” drums for this track.
Good ear.
ya caught the original with the hypnotize lyrics a while back but being the huge cudder fan that i am this will be gettin a spot on the next mix cd
Drums are from Umbrella, and the chorus hook is from the 1984 movie, Starman soundtrack.
Play the symphonies track at the chorus which is about 56 seconds in, then listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buHd38K_LjM
Yeah, I suppose since it’s a remix he can just do whatever he wants and pull farts off a snare drum too, but if he wasn’t up front initially about where this stuff comes from it makes him look weak.
I mean, least he could have done is call it a mash up instead of a remix you know. At least mash up artists don’t claim their shit is a remix when it uses so many parts from other artists songs.
Link is bad, new one?
Love those two guys
