Usher falls in that list of people who are better artists when depressed or angry. He somehow strayed from being an all-season pop hit to joining the Mary J. Blige‘s and Joe Budden‘s of the world. Not that I wish bad on the man, but I rather hear him confessing about cheating on Chilli than hear him get lovey-dovey about his marriage.
And now, on the heels of a nasty divorce, following the birth of his second son, his life couldn’t be messier. One can only hope the music’s intensity mirrors his life’s. Papers better not be an indication of what to expect.

all artists are better when they just been through some shit.
Contra, that’s true when you think about futher than music too. Sure Marvin gave us ‘Here My Dear’ and Lauryn, ‘The Mised…’. But what about Edger Allen Poe, dude was suicidal his whole life. And Picaso, was on point during the Spanish Civil War. Maybe all the wack ones just need to get their ass beat a little.
Yeah I think Confessions was his best album.
Man, he needs to somehow craft Tiger’s life into music right now. That would make for a CLASSIC album.
