The Kobe-LeBron matchup, the one said to be a Finals preview…yeah, one team did not show up. Or they got D’ed up, out muscled and out hustled. And dunked on. They did manage to bitch and moan about quite a few calls.

No one make any predictions about who is winning the ring this year. Too early.
And I was proud of the Laker faithful for throwing the foam hands on the court.
I thought throwing the foam out there was pretty lame honestly. It’s one thing to boo and shit. But throwing stuff on the court gets dangerous b/c you always have that one idiot who gets extra buck and throws some hard object out there, injuring somebody yunno. Too dangerous and it goes from “spirited” to “stupid” that fast.
No predictions. We all know Kobe and crew will turn it up a notch for the PO’s. But I expect a better showing when you know the whole nation is watching. Kind of send a msg. Instead, LBJ and the Cavs sent the msg.
Inglorious Bastards > The NBA before christmas day
Eagles vs. Broncos @ 4:15 Sunday, Brian Dawkins coming back to Philly… If anybody missed out on the snowball assault at last weeks game this shit is ridiculous…

Shaq said he got hit with some peanuts.
Still say that the Lakers have the weirdest fans in the league. 2008 Finals proved that to me.
on one hand, it was slightly amusing seein fans so caught up in emotion thatthey started throwin shit
on the other, I was like “watch some jackass is gonna toss his beer at Shaq” and “imagine if the foam hand was thrown a someone like Stephen Jackson…ol boy would got slid out his shoes lol”
yeah man, after the Palace incident, seeing shit thrown on the court doesn’t seem as humorous. Plus, you got two of the leagues biggest stars out there? Not cool.
Regular season is unimportant to the Lakers. always has been.
If Kobe had jumped it would have been worse than Fisher’s encounter with Corey Brewer’s crotch.
I mean, when I watch the Lakers, I feel like the majority Laker ‘faithful’ (or at least the ones that are courtside) are rocking V-necks so deep that you can peep there goddamn belly button…come on guys. now i live in socal now and am not hating on v-necks in general, but i cringe when i see dudes rocking these deeeeep ass-v’s
Glad none of those fingers hit Artest. Thats all the Lakers needed was him rushing the stands to kick Diane Cannons ass.
I swear, everybody was watchin the game. Stern woulda had his panties in a bunch. It takes alotta PR to clean up that kinda mess….good thing those guys kept it together…Lebron>>>Kobe lol
Im not condoning throwing OBJECTS of any sort on to a court by no means. BUT WE’RE TALKING ‘BOUT ‘EFFIN FOAM FINGERS!
Lakers are always projected as soft glitzy ala SHOWTIME type players…the fans fall into that as well. DAMN MEDIA! No offense G.
Most of the true fans are at the top of the stadium. They threw the fingers! Dont pay attention to courtside….that aint L.A. !!!!
BUT WE’RE TALKING ‘BOUT ‘EFFIN FOAM FINGERS!

^^^Yeah, you could’ve said the same thing about plastic cups
C’mon Turk…foam fingers thrown from the upper deck wouldn’t have a chance of making it down to the court. As a Cavs fan, I found it comical that they were booing a 23-4 team who won the title last year, even though they were just getting Debo’ed. Then they start throwing stuff on the court. Classy. Kobe was whining the whole game. I know every star does it, LeBron included, but it was literally like every play for Kobe.
It’s like Random Guy said though, really the regular season is unimportant to both of these teams. They will both be in the playoffs, with the Lakers likely being #1 in the West and the Cavs falling anywhere between #1-3 in the East. This game just shows the Cavs that they can matchup with anyone, and when they play defense like that they will always have a chance to win. Top to bottom the Cavs have better depth, but the Lakers definitely have more top level talent. The Cavs just wore them down in the end.
Lakers>Cavs
I watch every Laker game i can and that was just poor effort tonight. the scoring droughts had nothing to do with the Cavs D. Half the time they just threw up ill advised shots or forgot that they had 7 footers chillin underneath the basket. The Cav’s showed up and played good ball tho. but come playoff time, no team can beat the Lakers four times. It’s hard to fathom.
Man let a foam finger smack mew in the face…Ima whoop someone’s ass. thats some pussified shit
My Lake Show got shown up…LeBot played tonight like Kobe plays every other night, great despite the subtle stat line while Kobe played how LeBot plays every night, okh but not team basketball and not how you need to play to win games against talented teams…
LeBot usually gets the ball several feet behind the 3 point arch and then does his business up top while everyone else just watches. Today, dude was an animal off the ball, constantly positioning himself to get the ball in a better position for him to attack and score. Getting deep in the post on Ron, goin backdoor and usin screens to get open looks at treys and jumpers, dude was playin great basketball and Im probably his #1 hater and im sayin this…
With Kobe over penetrating all day like he was havin flashes of a certain white bitch in a hotel room, the offense was stagnant and as a result, nothin was goin outside of Kobe and his ridiculously deceiving stat line…
This was the first time that (IMO) LeBot has outplayed Kobe in a game…this was a huge move for LeBot, showing that the gap between him and Kobe is quickly narrowing down
The Lakers needed this smack in the face, hope they wake the fuck up and get it goin…shits only gonna get harder from here on out with all the road games upcoming…
Pick it up fellas…
This was the first time that (IMO) LeBot has outplayed Kobe in a game…

The Record Between Lebron’s Cavs vs Kobe’s Lakers ?
7-5, Cavs won 6 outta the last 8
When Mo Williams is making shots and plays like he was tonight, the Cavs become an elite team.

Okh, thank you for pointing that out, I really dont kno what kinda reaction you want from me? I dont care what their head to head record is, that doesn’t speak on their individual efforts…LeBot for the most part does not play in a manner that allows him to utilize his teammates skills, period. Which is why I dont quite frankly understand why he doesnt get more “ballhog” comments thrown at him…he gets the ball 30+ feet from the basket, drives and either kicks it out or finishes…thats it…he needs to learn how to utilize his teammates skills and how to be a threat without needing the ball in your hands…A friend of mine said it best,
“One of the biggest reasons that I think that Kobe’s a better player than LeBron is that LeBron doesn’t function well off of the ball, which causes his stats to skyrocket, but limits the opportunities that others get…while Kobe’s able to score and create in the context of an offense that allows others to thrive.
LeBron was fantastic off of the ball tonight, which allowed Mo Williams and Co. to utilize some aspects of their game that are often neglected…namely playmaking. I don’t think LeBron ended up with a mindblowing statline, but he played GREAT ball. Made some really good reads off of the back screens/pin downs that Van Gundy pointed out. He outplayed Kobe by a MASSIVE margin.”
Now I dont think he outplayed him by a MASSIVE margin because I do feel like Kobe’s play in the first half was relatively fine, problem was no one else was showing up which combined with the Cavs playin soem of the best ball they’ve played all season long, led to a big deficit and that led Kobe to playing like he did in the 2nd half, shitty basketball…
Cleveland Cavaliers
bitch
LeBot for the most part does not play in a manner that allows him to utilize his teammates skills, period.

I’ve never heard anyone credible say anything similar. Lebron obviously makes the guys around him better. How do you explain making it to the Finals with a Cavs team that wouldn’t be .500 without him?
Hate harder.

^ U right. LeBot HAHAHA! stifles Mo’s game. Mo is a better point guard than LeBot and he needs tolearn this. i will say LeBot outplayed Kobe and Ron Ron, 2 of the NBA’s toughest defenders so the next game will be good. Also Shaq pushed Bynum around all day too HAHAHA!
I dont get how you guys are saying these regular season games dont count. These teams are playing for one thing…home court advantage. In the West, the Denver is the only real team that could stand to take that away from them, but Portland has always been L.A.’s achilies hill.
On the EAST….Fagetaboutit. The C’s Orlando, Cavs and the Hawks would kill to have homecourt in the post.
Kobe is a warrior. The D he played on LeBron towards the end of the game was viscious. He played the whole game like his life depended on it. His teammates on the other hand, I dont know it seemed like they didn’t really care to be there til too late when people started getting chippy, Lamar for example.
And I dont know why people think the Lakers fans were booing the Lakers, even the stupid ass reporter at the end asked LeBron that, dumb. They were booing the officials. Even Phil Jackson wanted to boo em but like he said after during his pre 4th quarter interview, last time he said something similar he got fined 25,000 or whatever. Kobe was driving to the hole like a mad man and getting beat the fuck up, he was getting no love. Even Mark Jackson and Van Gundy were saying some of em were fouls. The officiating was so obviously bad for the Lakers that Van Gundy towards the end of the game had to say that as bad as it was it is not what decided the game. The Lakers got out hustled, prety much the entire game except for the end of the second half. They seeemed uninterested. People can talk the Cavs are better Kobe isnt as good, whatever, come see the Lakers in the finals

So you are saying that you base your thoughts on the Kobe vs. LeBron argument on what people with credibility say rather than watching the two over the course of what, 7 years now for LeBot & 13 for Kobe, and making your own observations and as a result, creating your own educated opinion? Lets just take some credible sources observations and see what they say…
“…as brought to light in an interview with the late ESPN and Sports Illustrated columnist Ralph Wiley. Wiley wrote that if Kobe had larger hands, he would “own the game.” Kobe also doesn’t quite have the wide frame or the bulk to post up like LeBron James does.” (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/579115/kobe_bryant_vs_lebron_james_who_is_pg2.html?cat=14)
Large hands? LARGE HANDS? ARE YOU SHITTING ME WILEY!?!?! WE’RE TALKIN ABOUT HAND SIZE? HAND SIZE!!!
heres one of COUNTLESS videos (http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4770716&categoryid=null) and the rest are just a couple articles I ran into while googlin this shit (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/279838-best-players-in-the-nba-dwyane-wade-and-lebron-james-sorry-kobe) (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2009-02-14-kobe-vs-lebron_N.htm) on the Kobe-LeBron thing…you will find it time and time again that all these “credible sources” do is talk about LeBots stat line & efficiency vs. Kobes rings & killer instinct…
THATS A BULLSHIT ARGUMENT…bullshit because LeBot still has time to get those amount of rings and efficiency is so overused (if not, then we should all follow Hollinger’s PER which stated that Carl Landry is the 10th best player in the league RIGHT NOW and stated that after the first 3 weeks of the NBA season, Wesley Matthews was #1 in the NBA, most ppl dont even kno who that cat is) and bullshit because the stat line is the most deceiving thing in the world, players do MORE than what the stats show and this goes for EVERYONE in the NBA.
Hell, your going to tell me KGs impact on the floor only goes as far as his 15-7-2 stat line? That doesn’t measure his impact completely at all. Then of course you got guys like Zach Randolph, who is IMO arguably the most unproductive & destructive 20-10 player in the history of basketball possibly…
But hey, he puts up 20-10 right? So he must be great…right?
And killer instinct? The fuck? Thats a natural desire and passion that you cannot measure nor IMO just suddenly gain, Kobes always had it and regardless if LeBot ends up “getting it” or whatever, a killer instinct is not something that you use as a valid reason to determine why one player is better than another…
Point is, I do feel LeBot makes the Cavs better but this is where him and Kobe are different, his basketball IQ is not at the level as Kobe yet, YET (being the key word) which then has not allowed him to discover how to sculpt his game around his teammates so that the team can be the best it can be…Mo Williams’ best asset is not being a spot up shooter, same with Delonte West, Varejao and Ilgauskas can do more than just stand 18 feet away and clear the lane for you, Shaq is still the most physically imposing specimen in the NBA (sans Dwight), LeBot needs to kno how to get the most out of his teammates and how to dominate a game WITHOUT having the ball in his hands (which he did yesterday) and without needing to catch the ball 5-6 feet above the 3 point arch and doing HB Slam every damn time…
Again, idgaf what credible NBA sources say, real talk, you shouldnt either, sit down and watch every game the two of them have for the rest of this season (they each have like one nationally televised game a WEEK at least, hell, I just justin.tv most of em anyways) and pay attention to the two of them, I am MORE than confident you will see and make the same or similar observations that I have…
Before the xmas game I have not been watching LeBot very intently this season after the first couple weeks, I wont lie, after the Cavs dismal start I kinda just stopped watchin em and focused more on other more interesting/surprising teams in the NBA (Bucks, Thunder, Kings, etc) but that’ll change now that LeBot made this stand on Christmas day of all days too…
Btw, Im 5-time defending Hater Ball Hater of the Year, so I dont really think I physically can or need to “hate harder”, thanks tho…
Look …it really counts after the all star game. Thats what Im saying. The team didnt show up! Point blank….they got served THIS game. It happens.
As for the crowd…lol On one hand yalll will call em soft or passive cuz we in LA….now theyre bitches for throwing FOAM! Which is it?
IDC….. in the end….CHECK THE GRAVIE!!!!
