That’s right. Apparently, Teddy Riley got into it with his 18 year-old offspring,Taja Riley, beating her and her sister with a Rock Band game guitar.
Teddy Riley — a singer from the R&B group Blackstreet — is accused of using a guitar from the video game Rock Band in a violent attack on his daughters.
Teddy’s 18-year-old daughter Taja Riley was granted a temporary restraining order against her dad — claiming 43-year-old Teddy abused her and her older sister by “stomping, punching and bashing them” in his L.A. home on December 23.
In the documents, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Taja claims at one point Teddy, “lifted a Rock Band guitar and threatened to kill person(s) w/ it.” Taja claims she suffered several injuries in the alleged altercation — including “bashes to temple, contusion on face” and “pain in knee.”
And in a segment of when keeping it real goes wrong, the hitmaker (*sigh*) took to Twitter to openly admit to his actions without regret.
By the way, I think all you publicists and handlers should pool your monies together to send the makers of Twitter a lovely gift basket. Occasion? For keeping you working of course!
Though the story is still one-sided, judging by the pictures and words used to describe the incident, I’d say excessive force was used. Just a tad bit. Now, make no mistake © Barack Obama, my hardheaded self caught many disciplinary ass whoopings courtesy of my parents and their thick ass leather belts (thanks mom & dad!). But when you’re allegedly straight up BEATING your kid, it crosses the disciplinary line into abuse in my opinion. You never want to “go there” when you’re angry because you’re liable to snap and Teddy probably did. Then again, the way some of these teenagers act today, yeah. And I’m sure it’s tenfold when you’re a trust-fund baby. If only they were all like the Simmons kids, right? But who’s to say Teddy is something like Rev Run?
I say all that to say, ’tis easier to build a child than to repair an adult Teddy! No diggity no doubt!

You misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying despite how this case turns out; Teddy Riley the musician will always be a genius. Issues with his family shouldn’t take away from what he did to shape music for decades.
I wasn’t saying you or anyone else shouldn’t discuss his musical legacy.

This is very disturbing and no matter what she has done that doesn’t give him a reason to hit her like that. That is abuse and let me tell you I have gotten my share of azz whoopings from my parents which I thank them for but there is a difference. I walked out with a sore azz not a swollen and bruised face. He is a women beater and he needs help because its only going to get worse if it is excused now. I support her no matter what and every women should support her because what if it was you.Think about that before you comment out your mouth that she deserve it.
