“Smile on my face, tears of a sad clown
Feelin’ out of place as I whistle a cab down
If I tip extra, can I huff a cig?
Blow my smoke out the window, droppin’ ashes on the bridge
I’m in New York now, like Akeem and Semi was
Tryna get the lobby door open from a semi buzz
I just wanna go to the slum
And throw my money on the floor like The Notorious B.U.M.
Build a home, teach a class, start a revolution
Free the mind, heal the body, talkin’ evolution
This that black Elohim Anunnaki rap
That Farrakhan-Akeem-Olajuwon-Qaddafi rap
I dedicate this to my niggas in New Orleans
Rockin’ black and gold stocking caps and fleur-de-lis Shockey hats
I’m in the coatroom, screaming ‘Who Dat’ on the double
Servin’ gumbo wit’ a shovel, dog, I’m on another level
Me and Kweli come together like two, pieces of metal
We magnetizin’ the ghetto…”
“…Now here’s the memo
I’ma rebel without a cause, a bezzle without no flaws
And shawty you straight but you look way better without no drawers
And sweat out this alcohol Bet I’ma about to ball,
And never let up look how I just crept up without applause
Fed up with all the frauds and left y’all without a job
The center of attention, this is clever, I’m Pau Gasol
Really though I’m LeBron, really don’t got my mind
On this new school of rappers, I will really go Columbine
And throw up the diamond sign
Boy you know I’ma shine
Flow is in Ramadan
Cuz couple years ago, the game had they pajamas on
But now they on my dick–man, I should throw a condom on
Ay, cuz a nigga cummin’ raw like I ain’t got one on
And I ain’t stoppin’ or coppin’ no pleas, I just lock and load squeeze
Dog, I’m on a higher level, I’m on top of nosebleeds
Niggas say they sick, but when they write, they don’t sneeze
Like the nigga on the block wavin’ his glock but won’t squeeze
…please”

Jay Electronica & J. Cole on “Just Begun” from the album Revolutions Per Minute
Yeah, the Black Star keeps shining right on home but there’s a couple of new bright spots in orbit looking to dominate the galaxy. Jay-Z already told you a star was born with J. Cole and he ensures Jiggaman isn’t a liar with yet another verse to put the rewind button out of order. Not before Jay “Drops Material Like Halley’s Comet” Electronica set up a pretty lofty volley of his own. Betcha didn’t know the New Orleans Saints’ logo was formally named a fleur-de-lis. Good googly moogly, that’s some intelligent lyricism.
Which one can only hope returns to the center stage. Reflection Eternal is back for 2K10 and Kweli especially, knows a thing or two about assembling proper posse cuts.

Download — Reflection Eternal Feat. Jay Electronica, J. Cole & Mos Def – “Just Begun”

Best Month Ever – Jay Electronica.
song is pretty crazy… J. Cole been killing everything like a nuclear holocaust, Jay Electronica mixtape pushed back according to Just Blaze, him and Fab both supposed to drop today and neither does… Bullshit
Clever pic (Saints/Panthers)…I see what you did right there.
So this is the song my boy was raving about on Twitter. Haven’t had time to look for it until now but he didn’t tell me the lineup was loaded like this! Crazy.
P.S. I want to thank TSS for putting me on these Pome duck boots. Rocking mine now and these shits feel like sneakers!
Act II was supposed to drop 2 years ago today. I should’ve known it would be delayed.
Damn…this album is gonna be something.
The more I listen to J Cole, the more I really realize this kid is a problem. His flow is straight fwd but I don’t think I listened close enough when I first stared checking his materail. Kid’s rhymes have a nice intricate connection from line to line, a cohesiveness. Not too dense though.
Fuck Jay Elec until he drops material on a consistent basis.
Yup – now that xmas is out the way, I’m looking to order Pome’s next week. Wearing my LLs today since it’s been nothing but cold & rain the past 24 here. How’s the sizing?
J. Cole “Show Me Something” >>>>
From the moment I heard “Young Simba”, I knew this dude had it.
J. Cole is the future, b.
Was just listening to Kweli’s track on Statik’ Pre-Game EP.
RPM and 100 Proof can’t come soon enough.
I was just thinking the same shit about J. Cole when I revisited his material recently, shit is bananas. The only deterrent for him that I forsee is women, potentially becoming an artist who caters to the ladies. A lot of subject material on his first two tapes is dominated by talk about women, much more so than any other artists I can think of.

But it’s not done in the same cliche way (ie “Lights Please”). Cole has to somewhat cater to females if he expects sell records. It’s the nature of the beast. But the way dude handles that kinda subject matter is fresh. If he can find that balance, shy’s the limit.

Gangsta Gibbs smacks ‘em on the ass and let them call him Fred, they glad.
I copped this Obie Trice “Special Reserve” off iTunes cuz I got a gift cert. and I gotta say so far it goes pretty hard… I think I like him better without Shady production… About to cop this Tanya Morgan shit and see what all the hypes is about, might cop Dilla’s last shit too or I might grab another Mary J album cuz I can’t stop listening to “My Life” if anybody got any suggestions scream at me…
For iTunes albums? Hmm…the usual suspects. can’t think of anything i’ve bought recently outside of AKeys.
I guess it’s notable. I like the song though, can’t wait for the album, if it ever comes out.
since someone said somethin about freddie i would like to thank people for shifting the focus on him in the drake post not too long ago. that guy is somethin beautiful
as far as this song i see the greatest mixtape of all time in the future. j.ay colelectronica
@ Gotty
I wear a 12 in sneakers and I copped a 12 in the Pomes. A little room in the toe but not so big that they are flopping off of my foot. 11.5 would have been perfect.
True to size sounds like. I wear a 13 in sneakers, 12 in boots. I may opt for the 12 since that’s just how boots work for some odd reason.
The two most dangerous verse droppers in Rap or Hip Hop or whatever the fuck weenies call it. It’s crazy how the mainstream establishment is committed to not praising these cats as easily two of the top ten doing black music right now. Fuck everybody’s opinions…women lie…men lie…the facts don’t.
I actually hated the J. Cole verse so much I edited him out of the song.
J. Cole doesn’t fit in with the song, his subject material leaves much to be desired. What does it matter if you can flow if you’re not saying shit?

I liked how you put the Panthers and Saints together…Clever…
Jay Elect’s verse was dope because how vivid it was…
I know a lot of people are, but I’m not really feelin’ J. Cole’s verse. Besides ‘Losin My Balance’ dude is always flooding his verses with sophomoric lines…
“Shawty you straight you look better wit no panties on…”
“But now they on my dick–man, I should throw a condom on
Ay, cuz a nigga cummin’ raw like I ain’t got one on…”
Homie is dope, but I want to hear more focused verses from him…
fleur-de-lis wAs ThE french Old Royal logo !
know that ! bitcheeeeeeeeeeesssss*(mosdef’s voice)
*knows the New Orleans Saints’ logo was formally named a fleur-de-lis*
holy shit. im so mad at j cole right now. i mean like hatin on him. first he gets signed by Jay then gets to be on a song with black star. mad jealous. and he killed that verse, damn im bout to replay that.
Betcha didn’t know the New Orleans Saints’ logo was formally named a fleur-de-lis
