When word first leaked approximately three months ago that Sade was coming back, I waited with bated breath. We all know how this “triumphant returns” can end up being endless waits. Plus in her nine year absence, the musical landscape has changed and we’ve seen how so many legends and myths have been bypassed by the times.
But if “Soldier Of Love” is any indication, the wait may have very well been worth it. From the introductory horns, the tone is set and Sade leads the charge over a staccato rhythm, calm, sultry voice as powerful as it always was.

I listened to Alicia’s album all day. I didn’t love the last @ first either and grew to love it so i’m expecting the same here. But the diff is I sorta like the majority of the tracks early on this one.
This Sade is going straight to the iPod, straight to the whip.

Not to sound like a nitt-picking douche bag, but that’s actually not correct. Sade IS one person, she is the singer, her band is called Sweetback. And yes they are equally important parts of making incredible baby making music. There are also Sweetback instrumental albums w/o Sade that are also phenomenal.
Sade’s band was one of the dopest bands in the last 20 years. boof of them Sweetback albums went hard. Tho that first one was a stone classic.
For Jerk: SADE is the band. Is the trademark of the group. Is strange (is her name) but Sade can’t sells albums or singles with her single name without the permission of her fantastics musicians.
Naturally she can do that like SADE ADU…..
She was my father’s first and as I got older, he eventually passed her on to me.
