Video: Wale & J. Cole Freestyle @ Denny’s
AUDIO By Gotty™ on November 20, 2009 at 10:16 pmTouring isn’t what it used to be. I told you that they weren’t letting anyone backstage @ the BP3 show and J. Cole spoke on how there weren’t any groupies gettin’ their back out as far as he could see. Bummer. I think we all grow up having wet dreams where floozy after floozy in countless city comes through…well I ain’t tellin’ you my dreams.
We all have a romanticized perception of what the life of an entertainer is supposed to be composed of. In most cases, I assume it’s still made up of those things, otherwise Gucci wouldn’t be risking violating his parole, chasing the checks and the lights of the night life. Same for Boosie, word to anal-pill-insertion, I mean because you can’t get that type of action out of no regular bitch from the city. But this was Mr. Carter’s ship and it’s a tightly run affair. So what do you do after tearing down the stage in front of packed crowds?
If you’re Wale & J. Cole, you kick a freestyle @ Denny’s while UCB keeps the beat.
And regardless of what these fuckboys tell you, this is why both of these guys have my support. Don’t let random Twittering or some pulled quote from an interview let you get the game twisted. These guys are just as authentic as the ashiest-elbowed trap rapper you can imagine and their love for the art is true. And the future of rap is in safe hands.

There is no such thing as a tour without groupies. I blame Beyonce
word
Both of these dudes are as talented as I have seen in at least the last 8 years. Don’t even bother comparing them to other artists now or in any other era. They are on some other shit, and Hov will make sure everyone in earshot knows it in the near future.
i am lost, both of them are average, if these are the most talented people in rap the past eight years, then you either work for their management or you lack taste
You obviously haven’t heard Wale’s album or J. Cole’s mixtape. You’re entitled to your opinion. Just a word of advice in the future: try not to form an opinion unless you have given what you are forming an opinion on a fair chance. Just saying.
*or a fair chance.
fair chance? they couldn’t even freestyle
your comment was exaggerated….There are a number of rappers in the past 8 years that are far better than these two non-rapping fellas
i was forced to listen to j.cole’s mixtape(s) and i don’t know what the fuss was, more like a watered down blu…..wale’s album lacked too in many areas……
these are my opinions? lets wait and see either of these two cats numbers next year, they still won’t be known past the internet and video slots of MTV jams…..even lower than Tabi Bonney
like i said before, your taste is horrible
lol you’re still talking numbers? and thats fine w/ me if they are only doing college tours, or cmj, or rock the bells. wale’s album is at the very least a solid effort. “Do you listen to music, or do you just skim through it?” As for J. Cole’s mixtape you even said yourself that you were “forced” to listen to it. No wonder you never gave it a chance. Your mindset was already set on disagreeing and proving someone else wrong. I have a friend who always plays devils advocate. Even if he doesn’t necessarily agree or disagree w/ the person he’s talking to. Very aggravating, but it does make for good convo. The other person usually gets pissed off and he looks like he’s won either way. lol
…And yes, my comments may have been a little exaggerated, b/c I can name 5 emcees right now who came out in the last 5 years who are insane lyrically (btw Tabi Bonney isn’t one of them though). Lupe…and then I’m drawing a blank. At least when it comes to your expectations of numbers, and internet and video slots on MTV2. I’m just glad that I don’t judge artists’ success by the same standard as you do.
It has been a dull couple years in terms of new talent, but this past year I’ve seen more possibilities than ever, I believe we have a rebirth comin
