Work smarter, not harder.
Posting compiled Loosies is always time consuming to an extent. It’s always good to feel like we’re getting tracks out to you & it always gives a “Uhh? Who us?” feeling when an unheard of artist sends an email thanking us for including their mp3 in a Loosies set. But @ the same time, I started to notice that where an estimated hour or two per day would be spent rounding up Loosies, they’d only be downloaded by a handful of the several thousand travelers who cross our e-doorstep daily.
Time to work smarter, not harder.
To that end, here’s Vol. 1 of The Pack (name subject to change). These are all new or at least fairly recent songs that we didn’t have time to post, were on an album that may have been snoozed on, feature an artist on the rise, a track that mandated adding to your playlist or just some random shit that more folks needs to hear. All filtered though, clearing out the crap. No rhyme or reason. Just music.

Nope, not the end @ all. This is actually something that I wanted to do, feel like you all have asked for over the years, etc. So depending on the feedback and how it progresses, we’ll do this and Loosies. I’m also looking into a way that friends can send us tracks they think might be worth including as well.
Yeah…it’s an idea in progress.

I’m really looking forward to this now. I listened to Vol. 1 and I’m digging everything. I’m checking for the Melanie Gardot chick after hearing her cut. I’m liking the idea to throw a little rock in there. I already have a few cuts I would like to put up for consideration to make Vol. 2 so please let me know how to drop those off to you guys/gals (I got you LC).
neat idea and knowing the Gemini tendency to change things up when it feels stale, I kinda saw this coming.
Suggestion.. add some mix-tapes to the pile and call it a carton. you can drop this on like Thurs – Friday to get folks thru the weekend. I check in on the phone but it can be a pain to sift thru posts on the phone when the little Belve is on the go.
Special note on the discussion a while back regarding linkage – Usershare seems to be a good alternative to zshare. It allows sampling before download for a single track and no delay in downloading. I don’t know the upload process or speed but 2DB (Shake and Meka) seem to like it.
