“Somehow, Someway…”
AUDIO By J. Tinsley on November 2, 2009 at 12:53 pm
Ever since the Jay and Beans fiasco broke the other day, I’ve managed to keep my opinions to myself…at least on the blogging front. Reason being because I honestly found myself on the fence. To Jay’s credit, Beans did have a record label, a promising crew, a clothing line and his first album come within hair length of platinum status. The seeds of success were planted, they just never blossomed. To Beanie’s credit, stories of Jay’s financial infidelities have been discussed ad nauseum. We knew that. Cam put that on front street a long time ago. In the grand scheme of things, I’m sure both parties are just as much right as they are wrong. The realization that hurt the most though? Losing the last sliver of hope (as in .0001%) of seeing that coveted Jay/Beans/Scarface triplet compilation pierces my soul.
I can’t remember where or when it was when I first heard the “rumor” of a collaborative album between three of Hip-Hop’s biggest heavy weights. Truthfully, I knew it would likely never materialize. However, the fan in me always wanted to see it come to life. Hell, I would have taken a leak of studio tracks, a la I Can’t Feel My Face in 2006. It just made so much damn sense when you really sit and analyze the situation.

Jay would have brought the witty wordplay only he could really produce. Beans would have enlightened the world of the ghetto’s plight and pain with every emotional bar he embedded on wax. Scarface, well, we all know his lyrical capabilities. More so than anything, they all meshed well together. Nothing seemed forced. Nothing seemed out of place. And an album littered with production from Kanye West, the possibilities were literally endless.
Keyword: “were.” Seeing as how I’ll never know the entire story of Jay and Beans relationship or the true workings of the music industry, I’m left to leave sorrowful notes such as the one you’re reading at the moment. I always try to keep it music, and for the most part, I do. It just sucks when you realize the music business really is a business and nothing is as it appears.
This really is life, huh?
P.S. In case you need their recording resume’, you know TSS has you covered.

Fuck Jay-Z!
Hate hate hate.
But try to say that collaboration wouldn’t be fire and I’ll call you a liar.
P.S. Beware, if you see this, you still looking for that Mac version Photoshop?
oh shit gruemes is about to shit in his french draws.
@Johnny Blaze, now, now let’s not get ahead of ourselves fella. It would be an interesting collaboration, but it’s not like, wow, Genesis are re-uniting and this time they got Phil Collins AND Peter Gabriel together!
A fair days work for a fair days pay, Jay Z should pay the troopers, before the sweat dries from their brow, and not a penny more or less.
Beanie Sigel has had a good innings, all things considered, if there is still gas in the tank, he should drive it a bit further. Otherwise, trade it in for a different model and consider travelling a different route.
He is Muslim, or so I hear, he should go seek counsel from LOON, there’s more to life than than the ROC, and I hope he discovers it all in glory. I wish him the best.

Losing the last sliver of hope (as in .0001%) !
^
first that LP was a dream, of course, nowWw
it’s a fucking priesthood to still hope on it
but this dead ‘last slive of’ hope was also the same percentage for the creation of life on earth… so you know
if beanie has this phone-call
no rebuttal, and then.
Impossible’s nothing, pledge your allegiance. Greumst !
totally off topic but damn I wanted that Original Fake jacket Hov had one…
until that ‘gangsta made me do it rmx’, matter fact !
nas/face/cube iz always a dope option.
in fact, all we will get is that
face/bun duo lp one damn day
crazy too, for sure.
I bet before you’d ever see a Jay/Beans/Face LP you’d see a Em/Jay/3k. I would pay twice for that album too
AZ/NAS/MEGA LP back then ! ouchh.
Eminem/Fifty album, DOOM/MosDef album, that can happen
Jay Electronica/… only one solo album iz already good !
Em/Jay/3k… and u even do not have one fucking song as repair.
sick to see that 3k can be with them just because of his lyricism (without a head monster mogul status). hiphop magic !
existance of god >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> existance of this Em/Jay/3k LP
please, get me wrong. cuz if THAT project see the light of the day
this would be the highest day in hiphop-ism, with Illmatic !
Another era over..
Anyway, now that he’s got that off his chest, hopefully he can move on if he just stops looking at his phone (it’s been 2 years already), he’s still got it in him.
If there was a Scarface and Beanie album, that wouldn’t be so bad would it?? (would Kanye be ‘allowed’ to produce it?) then maybe Jay would want a look-in..(i know i’m dreaming right?!)
Random-ish -
the intro to guess who’s back is dirty
plus i guess mef/rae/ghost
iz one the damn way
and it’s already
a fuckin’ good
thing for us
and ghostdini still say it’s for december?
more faster than i thought maybe
but surely free at last !
jay is a psuedo hipster.
wow @ how straight deep (ayo!) that ItstheReal.com skit was.
whether or not they did a album together we may have still gotten a gem or two more out of them. Either way its a shame, business is business but only some people exercise business ethics.
