Now pardon the tardiness on this here post, but I’m in a DC-type of mood given the requisite listening of the recent release from one Mr. Folarin (the numbers don’t look good, but hopefully they pick up given the offering was the best ’09 debut this side of Fashawn’s Boy Meets World).
That aside, here’s a video clip from two other cats claiming the nation’s capital, Tabi Bonney and Phil Adé. The former puts down the mic and gets behind the lens for the single “Hollywood” from the latter, star-of-the-show Phil Adé. The music vid doesn’t play too much to the fame-won’t-change-me narrative of the song but it falls in bounds of Ade’s b-ball themed Starting On JV mixtape from which it came.
* Them glasses don’t get a pass here but props to dude for even attempting to pull off the Carlton get-up (and the ladies, of course).

Boy Meets World has been in rotation since it dropped. Listened to it to and from work today. The dopeness.
Been wondering what he’s been up to. Just put my homie up on him!
“Puttin shun to the hate like creole!”
Ive been listening to “Starting on JV” for about a week and its tite. The kid is lyrical and the songs are great. Phil Ade is someone to watch for as the DMV gains more attention in hip-hop.
yo im fucking with wale and phil the both are lyrical acts but people dont respect them they always say they aint from dc so i was wondering how would i go by in putting up a good video from some real dc rappers on tss

Enh…start by making honest statements, considering i was just listening to some old Wale track where he spent/wasted 2 mins on an intro addressing the whole idea of his relationship to DC and the song had a scratched chorus that said “I’m from D.C.” repeatedly.
That is the suitable blog for anyone who desires to search out out about this topic. You realize a lot its nearly hard to argue with you (not that I truly would need…HaHa). You positively put a brand new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, simply great!
