Miguel Cotto got beat bad. And besides the first three rounds, he had nothing against Manny Pacquiao. Previous wins by “Pac Man” against Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton were lopsided in his favor but beating a legitimate opponent such as Cotto establishes his status amongst the best of all time. Winning the WBO welterweight title, Pacquiao became the first fighter to win seven titles in an unprecedented seven different weight classes.

But in all honesty, this story has already gone stale. Actually once the dust settled on this bout, all that came to mind was one name.
Obviously, Pac Man had to beat Cotto for this to happen, even though this wasn’t what the people wanted. It was just a rung on the ladder to the big one. “Money” Mayweather’s win over Miguel Marquez was a warmup to the inevitable. Paquiao proved his fight with Cotto to be the same.
Those aware of Floyd Mayweather know the boy loves to talk smack. He has already been quoted, calling Pacquiao “one dimensional” and admits that if he gets defeated it’s what the people want. You’ve got to give Mayweather props for talking shit and backing it up. But Pacquiao is as fast if not faster. Manny can take a punch from bigger fighters like Cotto and is nice with both hands.
The best part about a dude who loves to talk shit is when someone even better along makes him shut his bitch ass up. Manny Pacquiao may be that guy and for me I can’t wait for that day to happen.

Pacquiao solidified himself as a top-10 or 15 all-time boxer, any era, any weight-class, with his win.
That said, he wouldn’t beat Mayweather. Just not happening. It’ll be a heck of a fight, but PBF ain’t losing. Ever.

Manny Pacquiao grew up in the slums chasing down rats in trash dumps for food. Dude has seen child slave trafficking and all matter of hell. He ain’t going back. Not for Cotto, not for nobody.
Long as Pacquiao is healthy and focused on fighting, he ain’t gettin’ touched in any weight class that he can handle. He ain’t going up to 155 or 170, but from about 125-147, ain’t nobody beatin him but crooked judges.

any REAL fight fan - someone with deep knowledge of the ring knows that Manny will humiliate Floyd within the first few rounds. Floyd hasn’t ever fought speed. Or a double hammer from both arms. His avoidance style will only play into Manny’s speed and strength.

The real questions are do you remember watching Mayweather Vs. Hatton? Do you remember watching Pac Vs. Hatton? (It took Mayweather 10 rounds to do what Pac did in 2.)
Do you remember watching Mayweather Vs. De La Hoya (Zzzzzz)? Do you remember watching Pacman Vs. De La Hoya? (Oscar lasted all 12 rounds w/ Mayweather, but he threw in the towel against Pacman in the 8th.)
The difference is Pac has come a long way since the Marquez fights… the man just keeps getting better…. He’s now sick w/ his right and there’s no doubt he’d LEVEL Marquez once and for all if there was another fight… So if you wanna bet your mill based on that bit of history… good luck homie.

At the end of the day, “styles make fights”. Floyd is a helluva defensive fighter who doesnt like to get hit and is a great counter puncher.
While Manny is a ferocious, aggressive fighter who relentlessly pursues his opponent and has proven that he can take big power shots. If i was a betting man id put it on Manny. Its hard to win a fight while backing up and counter-punching all night. Not impossible, but hard. And Pacquiao just has too much speed, power and most of all at this point, momentum.
In that RA the rugged man interview with Pretty Boy Floyd, RA talks about how Pacquiao moves up in weight class to fight.

also about the Marquez fight, Money fought Marquez at 144 punds; 14 pounds heavier than Marquez normal weight class of 130 (which Pac fought Marquez at). Still, Money came in overweight. Marquez’ isn’t an elite athlete that can pull a PBF or PAC-Man type jump in weight classes. Also, PBF fought Hatton at 147, while Pac fought Hatton at 140 (which Hatton’s comfortable weightclass and undefeated at 140)

Nah, I haven’t boxed but my grandfather was a fight enthusiast and I’ve watch enough boxing to have an understanding of the sport.
I never claimed to be an analyst like you muhfuggas lol. I like boxing and know enough to form an opinion, not based on hatred of the man’s “character”.
Pacman is the next great hope but he will not beat Mayweather. Paul Williams can prolly beat Mayweather. Mosley has a chance at beating Mayweather but wouldn’t. Same with Pacman. It’d make for a close fight but Mayweather has proved over and over again why he’s one of the greatest fighters to ever lace em up.

Mayweather has made a career out of doing just that.
Would be a good fight but i feel Flod’s D will determine the outcome. Pac aggressive style will play right into Floyd’s game plan and although it will probably go at least 10, Floyd will put on a boxing clinic.. And we can’t go by previous fights against same opponents because they both have such different styles. Pac likes to get you out while Floyd is more of a technician.

Granted, but he hasnt seen anyone as relentless as Manny can be, not to mention the speed he brings.
Floyd is probably the best in the game at ducking and rolling on punches, but ive never seen him escape flurries of more than 3-4 punches with regularity. I feel like if Manny gets in rhythm and starts letting his hands go with those 6,7,8 punch combos, Floyd is more likely to be taking those last 3 or 4 shots. ANd hes not gonna be used to that.
Plus i just dont remember Floyd being in too many true battles, while Manny has made a career off it. And you know its gonna be a battle, whether Floyd wants it to be or not.
it dont matter because floyd wont fight pac or shane or williams- he wont take a chance. if he does pick one out of the three it ll be shane but thats a big IF. better chance of seein shane v. pac and williams v. clouttey late summer. sad thing is i thing floyd would molywop shane and be able to see the cards with pac-man. but we’ll never know…..

real talk- i think floyd is just a media hound and he enjoys hearing his own name too much. he is no where near the champ that hagler was but he has everybody duped into believing he is this phenomenon because he’s undefeated. if you want to be the greatest fighter of your era and one of the greatest of all time you have to fight the best fightes of your era. pac is a 7 time champ from lt/wt to welter just like mayweather. floyd thinks he’s bigger than the sport that made him now and that his fans and hatters will keep his place ion history instead of his fights.

As for Chavez, Jr.: he’s a franchise–they gonna keep pushing that boy like a bad rapper until he bricks a couple times, then he’ll go away quietly.

That Chavez Jr fight was the worst lead up to Pacman v Cotto. I would of been yelling “boringgggg!” loud as hell up in there…
My whole crew was cussing at the TV for a few rounds during the Chavez fight, before we just eventually ignored it and focused more on our substance assisted retardation.
