I think the difference with Messi is that he is a team player compared to Ronaldo. His ability is never in question even in on an “ineffective” night he still managed to embarass Real’s midfield and defence on a regular basis. It should also be noted that barca outplayed Real with 10 men for most of the 2nd half.

It wasnt a great match tbh though, it typified my dislikes of la liga. The ref was in love with his whistle man.
