New music from Freddie Gibbs in the form of “The Wrong One,” produced by Buckwild and a beat also used for Beanie’s “The Ghetto.” But you already know Gibbs’ version is solely his, as he recounts an autobiographical tale. Based on reality, the events depicted in the track resulted in our Midwest Malcolm being left with a scar above his left eye.

Download — Freddie Gibbs – “The Wrong One” (Prod. by Buckwild)
But that’s only part of why we’re here today. We’ve leaked a track or two from The Labels Tryin To Kill Me! The Best Of Freddie Gibbs, but the best is really yet to come. First off, there’s the cover art…
The title and cover together can be read multiple ways; I’ll leave that up to the creative minds. Make no mistake that both are a reference to Percy’s 1994 release (more specifically, the limited edition ’97 reissue is where the cover draws its blurry likeness).
But that title, it says so much about Freddie’s journey and the music found on The Labels…. Stories and styles influenced by Gary, Indiana, California and several other spots in between. From time spent growing up in a city forgotten by most, left for dead, dead in the middle of the U.S. There’s the up’s and down’s. The before, during and the still fruitful after of the time spent on a major label. There’s Freddie, spitting in double-time or slowed, sativa-induced flow. If there’s one consistent that you’ll see on The Labels…, it’s that the self-proclaimed Midwest Malcolm delivers each rhyme with a level of passion that implies that his life depends on that verse.
With nearly two hours of music, the mixtape is composed of tracks dating from circa 2004 to about a month and a half ago (“Bring Me Down” for Mike Posner). The production comes from the likes of the aforementioned Buckwild, J.R. Rotem, Kno, Red Spyda, Cook Classics, Just Blaze, Alchemist, Kanye West, Finger Roll, Havoc, 9th Wonder, Polow Da Don, Three 6 Mafia, Speakerbomb, Cool and Dre, Emile, The Knux, Akon, DJ Toomp, Block Beataz, Mr. Lee and Josh The Goon. There’s old, unreleased recordings, forgotten music, current tracks, and even snippets of future releases. And it’s all collected, compiled and together in one tape in the best quality audio available.
Hosted by DJ Skee and TSS, Freddie Gibbs’ The Labels Tryin To Kill: The Best Of Freddie Gibbs arrives on December 1st.

Wow! My G is goin in lol. And knowing the quality of Gibbs previous work…I’m drooling right now lol.
Crazy shit is, I’ve been bumping P’s album for a couple weeks now. Quietly, that album is a gem.
{dave chappelle voice} “giat damn mayne…thats alotta gibbs mayne.”
but shied…hell if gucci can drop 3 damn mixtapes in one day, i guess a 81 song offering from a dude who actually spits is a good thing. that cover is a fool…i love how he used a dirty white bitch to represent “the labels” hahahah.
i woulda liked to see “Doin Dumb Shit” on here though.
cant wait for this to drop. gibbs holding it down right now.
i love how he used a dirty white bitch to represent “the labels” hahahah.
=============
LMAO, damn Mo. I was thinking about trying to find her info & using her for a Cooler.
@amp – what p album?
Doin’ Dumb Shit was thiiiiiiiiiiis close to being on there. Had to cut a couple records just for the fact that I didn’t want peeps thinking that the tape is just every song that Freddie’s ever released…
Lol Mo’ is the man.
Freddie G well on his way to making a household name for himself in 2010. Bet that.
And I’m willing to bet Freddie really smashed the bunny too.
@ Sherm
The Ghetto’s Trying To Kill Me
Alot of the pre “I’m Bout It” Master P music is some genuine gangsta shit, without all the gimmickry that came later.
my interpretation of the cover was totally diff from Mo’s which is why I left it open. I’m glad i did b/c now I get to hear other people’s take on it.
And now I’m looking @ the chick all diff and shit lol
oh man that cover is fucking classic, I was trippin when i saw that like awww hell naw. master p does NOT approve.
….and gibbs is the shit
It’s GIBBS HO….
Fuckin funny what Maurice said, chick still looks pretty good though.
“the besr of…” consists of 81 songs? i like the guy alot, but that seems like a lot to be called “the best of” maybe a different title?
TWhen you’re talking about Freddie Gibbs, 81 songs is a modest number for a best of…
hell yes!
Aybitchfuckwitmewhatsup?
I was watching some old season of entourage, whichever one Saigon is in when his mom won’t let him sign a record deal or some shit. Anyways, johnny drama and turtle go to sai’s apt. to see him and he’s bumping some freddie gibbs the whole time! Strange, eh.
I have a gang of these joints already, but I’m still geeked for the new songs.
lmao @ the tracklisting.
dope track…Go GIBBS!!!
on an unrelated note….can someone check and see if this is legit…supposedley Rakim’s The Seventh Seal just leaked….true?
Ehhh. Disappointed with this, tbh.
Really don’t see the point of an 80-track retrospective, including tracks from the last two releases (one of which was already part-compilation, part-unreleased stuff). Diehards already investigated the Live From Gary tapes, Big Biz, etc., and new fans can and should pick up Miseducation and midwestgangsta in their entirety. So who/what is this for?
I feel like the choice is either do a new features and odds and ends tape, or wait for enough new tracks for a proper release.
Great cover tho.
looks like an anthology of snippets and shit just to tide people over..im sure hell put out somethin official soon, he dropped 2 albums in few months.
The tape is primarily all verses, maybe like 2 or 3 full songs. There’s also a few tracks on there that even the most die hard Gibbs fan hasn’t heard…
Ha-Garland, my sentiments exactly. That cover = stoned
Aggressive Content (c)50 Cent
got damn…..well seeing as i been jammin that gangsta gibbs since 05 im sure i got tha majority of these records, but i was lookin foward to that even higher learning! i aint tweakin tho im still wangin that miseducation no need to mention that last classic………fuck it aint no music like tha music from a midwest gangsta’s boxframe cadillac haha
smoke somn bitch
sums it up
Well damn. lol
Some people have dug around & found the old shit. The majority haven’t. This saves you a step. As well, the quality of these = top notch audio. So there’s an added incentive.
Yada ya, it’s free music. It’s Gibbs. It moves fast. I don’t think too many will be “mad” in the least.
wow!! Kill em my dude! U got more hood hits then the Whole no limit collection.
@ Mr.Break-A-Bitch
man…Even Higher Learning is jammin like a maaaaaahfugga.
Damn bruh I bet. Can’t wait 2. Hear it..lucky mufucka
Nice track goes hard. Can’t wait for Dec. 1st! get it GIBBSSSSSSSSSSS
@real I’m not like “Where’s the real new stuff”, just in case it could be taken that way. You drop two great releases in a year, you’re good. But I’d want friends of mine to check out those two releases before anything else. I guess I’m from a different generation and don’t really get with how a buzz needs to be maintained with some big “event” drop every few months and all that. That being said, prejudging the project is probably pretty dumb, that was just my first impressions.
81 tracks from Gangsta Gibbs? Christmas is coming early this year! Big ups to TSS, Gibbs, and DJ Skee. Counting the days…
the covers raw, and the tracks we already know are fire, and like Archie said, it’s mainly verses, so I wouldn’t call it a best of, more like it’s something to get people that never hear of Gibbs acquainted with his music…..
