The last time I saw Run’s middle son was on an episode of “Run’s House.” At this time, Young Diggy was into skateboarding and dressing like Pharrell. With that in mind you have to forgive me if I wasn’t exactly in panic mode to hear this kid had taken a stab at rapping. No offense, but I wasn’t a fan of JoJo or Team Blackout, so I wasn’t expecting this to be much better.

Fast forward two minutes and 53 seconds and one thing is for certain. Just like that, Diggy Simmons passed big bro JoJo on the family’s all time greatest rappers hierarchy. For you Hip-Hop “purists” out there (because I know you’re about to break your keyboard in frustration right now), relax, breathe and pop in your favorite tape of some artist most of the free world will likely never hear from. I’m not touting lil’ homie as the next coming Jay-Z or Andre 3000, but I’d be damned if his flow on this isn’t lightweight crazy.

“You know them haters probably think his daddy made a phone call/ But he probably hearing this the same time as all y’all…”

With the confident assumption I’ll be the laughing stock of TSS, I’ll be downloading his mixtape, The First Flight, on November 24. If for nothing else, to see if the little guy might actually have a future or if this was simply just a shot in the dark.
