Much as I despise Puffy’s adlibs and Diddy’s singing, Lupe’s penmanship and cadence save this track for me. Lately the kid’s been spazzing on beats in a good way. This only a few hours after the lyricist in question dropped this news.
Lupe mixtapes > Lupe albums. That’s where he keeps the bars like bathtub edges. And that’s what I’ll be downloading on Turkey day.

Agreed Lupe has put out arguably 2 classics while his mixtapes are sick they just don’t have as deep of a storyline and substance to them.

@ cpeeze, I think Lupe is more poetic. If you read his lyrics, you’d get different meanings, very layered.
Drake is clever with the wordplay and his delivery is conversational.
Lupe gots 2 make the hottest mc list next year I hope he keeps pushing himself yo. He’s the only backpacker I see that I could outdo weezy or drake

Really I don’t find Drakes wordplay that unique, I agree with BEZ that Lupe’s lyrics seem to be layered. Lupe tends to make his verses metaphors as opposed to just his words and that by far tips the scale in Lupes favor
