Dallas Mavs’ Popeye Jones Arrested For DUI

On Sunday, former Mavs player & now assistant coach Popeye Jones reportedly drank a few too many bottles of Mad Dog 20/20 solo, failed a Breathalyzer test & resisted arrest. I use “reportedly” because you have to use words like “reportedly” and “allegedly,” even if it’s obvious some messed up shit happened, which clearly the case for Popeye.
At about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Richardson (TX) police received calls from other motorists, who reported that someone was driving erratically in a gray GMC Yukon. When police pulled Jones over in the 100 block of South Greenville Avenue, Jones declined a breathalyzer test and briefly resisted arrest, according to Wakefield.
When police finally corralled Jones, he lost his balance and fell to the pavement, receiving minor cuts on his face. Wakefield said Jones would not be charged with resisting arrest.
You booze, you lose folks. And with a head like that, it wasn’t like Popeye could afford to take too many more L’s. Money cannot fix all things.
Still, I’m not sure where this ranks against Naledge’s mugshot.

Wow, I actually own that Al Green/Bobby Womack joint. Bought it YEARS ago, back when there were places called record stores. Liked it so much that I went back and copped the Al Green/Teddy Pendergrass joint too.
