Part of me wishes Cam, Jimmy and Juelz would let bygones be bygones and resume rocking random throwback jerseys while regaining their egotistical dominance a la 2002-2006. Unfortunately, the other part of me knows it would never be the same. This is the reason from time to time I decide take a trip down memory lane and reflect on days when The Diplomats had, as they coined it, “the only movement moving.”
Not to be confused with the iconic UGK and Outkast collaboration, Cam and Juelz flipped this Willie Hutch sample into their own Harlem soul anthem for “Hey Ma pt. 3″ years earlier. In all fairness, this doesn’t top the original version, but Cam’s witty wordplay and a young, hungry LaRon are enough to run this back a handful of times. Clever lyrics, sped up soul samples and near unmatchable chemistry. It’s what defines this track and hundreds of others they penned during their hey-day.
Fan or foe, it’s hard to deny the impact these Manhattan madmen left on Hip-Hop culture (good and/or bad). Subsequently, I am always left to ponder ‘what was’ and ‘what could have still become’ in regards to the demise of Harlem’s finest crew.

Ditto.
the dips movement was wasted on me when it was around…i wasnt feeling it.
cams pink shit and the way juels used to rock his cutie pie bandana and just the way they presented themselves had me thinking they was on some mase harlem world shit.
i wasnt that impressed by come home with me then i heard purple haze and started to understand there appeal.
I miss dipsets presence in the game…when the dips fell off so did NY.
some would argur that g unit also held new york down but g unit was headed by a new york nigga but it was facilitated by a west coast label and west coast producers etc…it never felt “new york” to me.
RIP DIPSET
Yeah it’s too bad Dipset fell off… I was really feeling them. I really loved Purple Haze

I never thought I would be nostalgic for Dip Set. Its not that I didn’t like them, I just never really kept tabs on any of them other than Cam and Juelz now and then. But now that the Movement’s dissolved? I kinda miss them.
Dame’s been making moves on the sidelines lately. He owes Cam at least a phone call, right?
Dipset Is Over !
