Video: VH1’s 50 Cent Behind The Music
GENERAL By TC on October 15, 2009 at 9:39 pmProbably the most enticing quality of 50 Cent’s Behind The Music special is its lack of pitfall. Where VH1’s storied series is renown for going into depth of the industry’s biggest stars and their descension, as well as their triumphs, Curtis Jackson really can’t count his losses since his 2003 official breakout.
Did The Massacre & Curtis live up to Get Rich Or Die Tryin’s standards? Please. Before I Self Destruct more than likely won’t either. But the extension of his branding still rakes in $$$. Do remember, he instilled that principle into Hip-Hop’s stratosphere. That is his claim to fame.
On a semi-related note, LOL @ WSHH utilizing the bandwidth to host this after Fiddy gave them this special shoutout.

Did The Massacre & Curtis live up to Get Rich Or Die Tryin’s standards?
=====================================
How could they?
But they were far from frisbees.
That’s like comparing Jay-Z’s albums to Reasonable Doubt every single time.
The Massacre = Frisbee.
Let me find out Amp is drivin’ thru Harlem bumpin’ “My Toy Soldier.” smh @ the thought
The only songs that I remember having “replay value” off The Massacre were the “Outta Control (Remix)” and “Ski Mask Way”. Both of those are probably credited to the production more than the lyricism though.
Yeah I’ma have to agree they both were pretty solid albums.. that like saying Marcus & Jeff Jordan are trash because they don’t live up to their pops MJ but in normal instances of pickup ball they’d probably bust the average niggas ass..lol
i dnt care wat anybody says the massacre had alot of standout tracks i kept atleast 8-9 songs from that album he jus coulda cut sum fat from it
Those aren’t bad songs … just realized that if not for Em’s and Timbalands albums I would have no 50 on my 80 gig ipod.
Was “Curtis” a non frisbee? I thought it was trash except for the get money single.

I felt embarassed for Yayo on that track lol.

Ski Mask Way
A Baltimore Love Thing
Ryder Music
Disco Inferno
Just A Lil Bit
Gunz Come Out
Position Of Power
God Gave Me Style
I Don’t Need Em
And I could even listen to the joints with Jaime Foxx & Olivia, I just don’t think they belonged on this album because of the tone set by the other songs.
Now put these songs with the joints he gave Jayceon and maybe The Massacre becomes Curtis’s 2nd classic.
Yeah the Massacre was decent. I pulled it out 2 weeks ago, and I didn’t do much skipping.

A stepdown from The Massacre but I still wouldn’t call it trash. That album has it’s moments too…

Man Down
I’ll Still Kill

Straight To The Bank

In My Hood
Pretty good. Kudos for the opening verse and sax

Ski Mask Way
Classic. But like The Good Doctor said, it’s the beat.
A Baltimore Love Thing
This song set Black people back 5 years
Ryder Music
Dope.
Disco Inferno
It’s aiight. Still chasing that “In Da Club” magic
Just A Lil Bit
Niggas only like this song just a little bit…
Gunz Come Out
Loud. Repetitive. Wackness
Position Of Power
Yeah, this shit right hurrr…sick. Slept-on. Had no business being on this album
God Gave Me Style
The pits. The first 3 seconds warrants a skip
I Don’t Need Em
More reason for Ghost to keep the beef going
The Massacre = 2.5 Cigs
Currrrrrtttttiiisssss!©Killa
LMAO @ TC
I dunno, I just have a thing for aggressive content lol.
2.5 seems a little bit harsh. some tracks on that disc are laughable though. agree position of power is slept on. prolly my favorite track on the disc.
I mean my favorite rapper is Nas (surprise, surprise) so I appreciate good lyrics as much as the next man but I think people are too harsh on 50. dude has some pretty nasty versus and incredible hooks. flow is nothing special but his “presence” on the mic (whatever that means to you) makes up for it. I think his next album is going to be great.
“Did The Massacre & Curtis live up to Get Rich Or Die Tryin’s standards? Please….”
Please, shut up. Massacre way better than GRODT.
Massacre is 50’s best work.
The flow right there that killed Jeffrey’s carreer.
No matter what you say or might think, didnt it sold more than GRODT?
GRODT sold nearly twice the Massacre. Massacre still did a “respectable” 7 million. Those days are gone.
all that ish was wack cause his wack
fuck you whores hating on 50cent yahll can suck dick with aid on tip
