“A Good Old Fashioned Street Cipher”

When we finally arrived at the J.Cole in-store at Vinnie’s Styles, the establishment was shoulder to shoulder with nothing but rappers, DJ’s and their managers. After briefly shaking hands and talking to the Roc Nation artist and his reps, Mike from SMKA walked up and said “Do you wanna set up a cypher outside?”
Initially, it seemed a little far-fetched as a notion. Then I realized we had a bunch of MC’s in the room, a camera crew and there was a DJ dropping bombs on Vinnie’s roof. So we nodded and began rounding people up.
Were it not for the fact that there were some technical delays, J.Cole would’ve been involved in the cypher, but the man had a performance and an interview to get ready for so he jetted to the hotel.
But the homies Vandalyzm, Fresh Daily, El Prez, and Nobody Famous hopped on the opportunity immediately and held it down. The DJ threw on a beat and drew a few other MC’s and quite a crowd. The rest, as they like to say, is history.
A3C 2009 was a lot bigger than the performances and the forums. The streets were alive with Hip-Hop; random performances, passionate discussions, street cyphers, fashion and tons of other timeless experiences. Make sure you’re a part of the action in 2010. In the meantime, enjoy the footage.

A’yo, that Vendetta dude had the David Bowie thing going on with his eyes, two different colours, was that for real or was he sporting a contact?
You all know how David Bowie got two different coloured eyes? He got caught up in a fight once, in the club and the door man punched him like really hard in the stomach, the punch was so painful that it switched up the colour on one of his eyes, from blue to green, permanently.

Shoutout to brownskin that was standing next to me…I dont know who she was. But you can peep when I started giving her they eye. Its real quick, but I mos def did the “hey whassup” thing to her. I apologize if that was anyone’s female lol.
And you can also peep when I’m telling Sean Falyon to come up and spit, but he was complaining that his throat was sore…awwww.
