Now We Can All Throw Our W’s Up In Unison
SMOKE BREAK By Gotty™ on October 26, 2009 at 11:42 amI remember a few months back that Crooked I was yappin’ about hate that emanated from West Coast elders towards “the New West.” Assuming it was just another rant or a hazing process, I ignored it. Well, looks like it was founded in fact.
Instead of waiting years to tell the truth (I’m looking @ you Magic), Snoop owns up to the fact that he initially hated music by a few new artists, namely Crooked I and Soulja Boy. He even goes so far to admit that some of SB’s music is infectious and jammin’. I’ve been trying to tell’em Snoop. As ig’nunt as that boy is he still has a decent ear for how to make ditty.
I’m guessing Snoop has found a certain level of graciousness since last week he also helped to mend fences between Game & Dre. Along the same lines, Chuck D sent out an apology to Gucci Mane for statements made. All in all, it’s encouraging to see rap’s elder statesmen reaching back to embrace younger artists, the way Bun B’s done for years now. Now, let’s see how many of the new jacks pay homage in return.
For the record, Snoop’s joint with Neighborhood Nip, “Gangsta’s Life” = steady rotation.

That is big of Snoop to admit that; hopefully this will turn into the new jacks showing the same kind of appreciation for the ones who opened the doors for them.

Hoes gotta eat, too.
We’re All In The Same Gang
Now we just need J.J. Fad and M.C. Hammer to make The West Coast cypher complete, lol
Yeah, I thought I remembered a minor rift between Snoop and Crooked I, so I was a little surprised when I heard Snoop featured on Crook’s Pig Face Weapon Waist EP (which goes hard, btw).
They’ve both dropped some bars on each other. I can’t remember the the lines to a T, but I remember Snoop saying Crook was ‘crumbs off his table’ on Pimp Slapp’d off The Last meal. Then, Crooked comeing back with something like, ‘How can a tight rap start with Fa Shizzle?’ “Freestyle 2,” maybe? I can’t remember.
Truthfully, Crooked was the fucking illest back then. Back when he was still rapping fast/choppy, and was probably my favorite rapper
`Nah, that Pig Face EP was pig shit.
Crooked built me up with his work on Slaughterhouse, only to let me down with an EP that is way below his skill level.

But Crooked was signed with Suge at the time.
He was asking for someone to fire off a shot.
I may do a little archival research, but I’m guessing this isn’t the first time the New Yorker declared Hip-Hop dead.
wrong thread fucker.
snoop lost my respect when he decided to have a reality(fake) tv show
Still waiting for Ice-T to stop bitchin’
Catchy garbage is still garbage. Own up to not liking Soujha Boy, but let’s not act like there’s something wrong with dislike of bad music.
