Who’s right? Who’s wrong? No real winners here. While Jay understandably sheds light on the fact that Beans should be in the same position Bleek is in (at the least), one would think with Mr. Carter being more wealthy and successful than ever, the R-O-C “Nation” would consist of more familiar faces.
But like Jay said, don’t be mad when it’s on to the next one.

Obviously, the money is not the whole point, but if your man asked to be let out of his contract cuz he felt played, and you wouldn’t do it, there’s something wrong there.
But beans just wants to get some letters in prison and maybe even a phone call now and then.

Y’all can talk about business all you want. At the end of the day Jay-Z is a trife dude. smfh. Very hard to have any other type of personality and achieve success to the level he made. But don’t fault Beans if he got disappointed that the person who represented one thing did not live up to the representation. Do not know if Beans took Dame’s side in the dispute. I do not know how far Beans and Jay go back and all that transpired between them but that answer has nothing to do with Beans complaints.

What are Beans complaints here?
Beans was looking for some non-business love from Jay (Noooooo Homo!) but didnt receive it. And Jay “apparently” presented that he was gonna follow the ‘non business’ codes. If Beans told Jay he didn’t want Jays money and he’s never tried to leverage the fall out for any album sales before , then you have to take this as he’s not crying about his current status.
Jay is wrong in this way only; He tries to play both sides of the field. You can’t jump from block morals to business ethics whenever you deem it beneficial. If you’re a man of your word, be a man of your word. If you’re live by the laws of business, then be that dude. But don’t play both sides.
I always remember Jay-Z quote about when he 1st got into the music business, he would have business meetings with executives. They would make a deal and shake on it. But when they were in another persons office on a later date, they claimed to have never said the previous things that they and Jay shook hands on. And he learned that ‘there is no honor amongst businessmen’. But he has built a parallel representation of himself.

I’m from Baltimore and I don’t think jay-z even visited his own brother in jail. some people in streets think thats a way for the law to catch up with you. This is the first time bean wasn’t on a jay z album in a long time. so maybe this is all rap partner beef and they will be back rapping again. the fact jay z responded shows he wants beans to get some attention from the media. he easily could of played off the question.

I think peoples point are valid in the sense that a man should handle his. I stand firm on that belief. Everybody is accountable for their own. However, I dont think Beans is looking for a hand out. He turned down money, he tried to opt out of his contract. So this aint about none of that. And if thats all you’re getting from it then you’re just “skimmin through it”. This is something personal, something that should have been squashed behind closed doors. But apparently Jay wasn’t giving him that option and then comes the whole police thing. Now it becomes public. So all the ‘beanie get on your job’ and ’stand on your own 2 ft’ shouldn’t even come up. Not in this case, cus if thats what it was, I would be on that nigga too.

1st of all, visits, letters & other signs of support are important to those doing a bid. that’s true. but aside from moms, wifey & children droppin by, nobody is OWED a visit in the bing. and even moms, wifey & kids ain’t a surefire condition. i’m not talkin false arrests or no mumia-type shit. i’m talkin bout niggas who do dumb shit & get knocked, like beanie did several times during a promising career. i’m a big beanie sigel fan but he pissed away a good portion of his career behind bars. the best way to avoid worrying about folks visiting you in jail… is simply not to get locked up.
could jay have handled this a lil’ better? sure. but as upper-crusty as it sounds, jay is in an precarious position where visiting an associate in prison could tarnish his rep & fuck up his business. for us in the hood it ain’t shit, but to these ritzy fucks jay deals with now? could be damaging. in the wake of mike vick’s situation, we all know that, so why beanie don’t know that? at least jay ain’t lie & say he went to visit beans, like puff did with shyne.
