Shake threw this up last night and I already knew what I was playing today, strictly off seeing “Go Stetsa” and “Suzy…” in the tracklisting.
DJ ReMike & Soul Productions take it back to the old school with a new mixtape dedicated to the original hip hop band. A welcomed mix of music that will spark memories for some, kick knowledge for others; but overall bring good music to the speakers of anyone that listens.

I remember that africa song…i was the only messican kid at my school that knew that shit word for word, im embarrassed to say I even had a leather medallion.
i know it might not make sense but if you grew up how i grew up in the places i grew up youd understand.
“It…..it ain’t nothing like hip-hop music….”
I used to LOVE me some Stetsa (ll)

Astonishingly enough Petey, I can dig it. Like I’ve been reiterating for a minute, that’s the diff b/w prev. generations & it causes some of the change in music. Coming up, music was cultural studies. You could learn so much & end up developing a sense of pride as a result. Only a short while removed from the Civil Rights movement & changes in society, we needed it.
Today, it’s not needed as much & kids are looking to learn & undertsand themselves, thus reflected in the music.
Petey, I can feel you too. I’m a white guy, but I spent most of my formative years reading about Latin American revolutions, and the Black Panthers. In music and politics, all my role models were Black or Latino, and it’s often what I identified with more. It probably didn’t hurt that I was almost always living in communities that were about 50% Mexican, and my mom grew up in Mexico and Colombia so that culture became part of our lives. My extremely white, Republican grandfather died a couple years ago and had his casket draped in a sarape and mariachis playing at his funeral.
It’s an interesting world. There’s so much cultural synthesis now, and I think it’s a really good thing going forward.
deep guys…very deep.
Does anybody remember ‘The Truckdrivers Song’ by Daddy-O?
That was dope!
so is this worth the DL?
That is nothing to be embarrassed about; music is supposed to entertain as well as educate.
