This beat is the bee’s knees. It’s also somehow pleasant and odd at the same time to see E-40, Goldie Loc and MC Eiht on MTV. It’s even better to see Daz and Kurupt pop out of an ice cream truck in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. Plus, Snoop does himself kind of dirty by spitting the following unbelievably pause-worthy lines, then pointing to his (fake) Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

I personally loved the song (I believe Rick Rock produced it) AND video… but the industry execs dismissed it as terrible (the video) so they did not push it.
Would be interesting to get Kareem’s take on this as a director.

I think Hyphy lacked a central figure to take it nationwide. 40 touched on it, but it seemed like he kinda latched on to the movement after it got big. The Pack ended up one hit wonders and honestly, Keak was never gonna get much burn outside of the Bay.
I meant to say “goin’ dumb” in reference to “one of them Hyphy dances”. I forgot what that shit was called, lol.
Hyphy/Crunk seemed like novelties to me. It’s good to incorporate something different like that in your repertoire if you can wear that suit well, but unwise to base your career on something that will get faded.
