Between her appearances with Q-Tip & Elmo, Norah Jones has made more appearances on the site than she has in years. Strange because when were blogspottin’, she was one of those artists I was listening to heavily and there’s a high chance that Come Away With Me has more plays than any other album in my iTunes. In fact, it’s the number three calming factor in my life, following milkshakes & bowls of cereal.
And now, the pianist & singer is back, set to release her new album The Fall on 11.17. Coming out of the gate as the lead single, “Chasing Pirates” is a mid-tempo number that strokes the fires of anticipation. While the new album is expected to be a departure from her previous sound, the sleepy vocals are nothing more than the classic Ms. Jones I’ve always favored.

[Y2K]

Not sure that this is first single material.
I don’t think it’s catchy on first listen, but it’s surely a creeper b/c I’ve been hummin it for about 24 hrs.
In fact, am I the only one who has noticed that more established artists seem to be releasing more lukewarm tracks (a jab) to gain attention, then going for a more inspiring cut (the knockout)? I kind of felt like that’s what was going on here.
i’ve always liked her. always seemed to be a real fly chick. never seems to be a superficial fake chick. which is always a plus.
@ Gotty

You are not the only one.
(Stellar observation)
It is a growing trend amongst (as you stated) established acts.
I would elaborate… but I am watching the Raiders play like a H.S. team yet again.
I’ll be back™ Our acting Governor (and I truly mean ACTING)
The Raiders suck teeny tiny monkey balls. Was it Jeff garcia who blasted them last week saying the players there had given up/werent focused? At least w/the Lions, a fan can blame management.
Top 3 franchises in disarray (my word of the weekend apparently)
1. Raiders
2. Redskins
3. Lions/Browns/Bengals
The top two only being higehr b/c it’s sad, knowing their rich history.
Dallas is on its way too.

I called out “The ‘Boys” last year.
lol gotty has a norah jones fetish.
thats all good though ive seen niggas flippin over broads that aint got half of what she does.
norah is sexy to me.
If a female can sing, I’m usually in immed lust lol. I mean I even have a love for Adele’s lil stumpy self hehe.
Bengals are 5-0 but they do have more criminals and sheisty individuals then B.I.G talked about on their team.
Bengals are not 5-0 they are 4-1. And the Bengals are looking good this year but still too early to tell. Shit the Bills are 5-1 last year.
*Shit, the Bills were 5-1 last year.
The average lead single, followed by the smash second cut is nothing new.
Michael Jackson’s lead single off of the _Bad_ album was the decidedly average “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.” It’s a decent song, but with a four year layoff after the biggest album of all time, Michael could’ve released just about anything and have it go #1. You can tell he phoned it in because he didn’t even release a video for it.
For comparison’s sake, the second single off of the album was “Bad.”
This is a very important post, I was looking for this knowledge. Just so you know I found your site when I was browsing for blogs like mine, so please check out my site sometime and leave me a comment to let me know what you think.
