Mike Posner – One Foot Out The Door Mixtape
AUDIO By Beware on October 28, 2009 at 9:31 pm
At this time last year, if you would’ve told me the new mixtape from a white suburbanite, Southfield, MI Pop producer/singer named Mike Posner would make my most anticipated releases of 2009 list, I would have laughed straight in your face. Well, things change and the unexpected is now common place, because as you all hopefully know by now, young Mike P has come a long way in the last 365 days.
With only the one classic mixtape (Yup) under his belt, this Duke senior has achieved Internet stardom, a staggering fan base and is ready to move on musically with his brand-new and highly anticipated Clinton Sparks-DJ Benzi-LRG-hosted mixtape, One Foot Out the Door. If it’s half as good as the last one, this 21-year-old’s sophomore effort will still be better than 90% of the other tapes you hear this year and make most artist’s actual albums sound lifeless as a pile of dead bodies.
If it is as good, then the 2010 J Records debut from this superstar in training waiting will probably sound something like the music God bumps.

Alright, seeya later guys. I’ve loved rocking with you for these past 3 years, but now there’s no longer any reason to stay around. I got what I wanted and it’s not going to get any better than Gibbs and Mike P, so bon voyage. Hastla la pizza. Peace the frick out.
Oh…wait, now i actually gotta listen to it.
lmao, i’m about to give this a spin. *raises milkshake* here’s to hoping it’s as good as the first.

This was my most anticipated album of 2009… and I didn’t even know dude in a chunk of 2009.
Unfortunately it just lacked content. Still good but a little disappointing in the lack of added catalog.
will probably sound something like the music God bumps.

That’s quite the build up Mr. Beware. I’ll have to download and check for myself.

That’s one hell of a write up, Beware. Downloading now.

LOL @ Beware
It’s like the stars all aligned for this one lol.
*DL’s*
*downloaded and unzipped*
Hope the leak of “No Ceilings” doesn’t steal the thunder of this mixtape.
This artwork is depressing as hell. lol
Mike P & Big Sean > Mike Jack & Paul
^^ Word? That’s a strong statement!
^^^
Blasphemy lol
sue me! lol
I like the chemistry they show on most tracks. If you remember, i was a Sean fan early, then he got lost in the Good Music shuffle. Alongside Mike, he’s found a lane. And Mike benefits b/c Sean breaks the monotony of him singing.

not to mention Block Beataz on production.

I remember bumpin’ Mike’s first one down in Austin. Shit was nice. Sean needs to put “Poed Up” on his album
Damn. I was kinda disappointed to be honest.. The reason i fucked with the first one so heavy was because his music was easy to relate to.. This project just seems like he wants to talk shit about all the bitches he’s smashing.. It’s still not a bad effort, but it pales in comparison to his “classic mixtape.”
^
I wholeheartedly agree.
@KInG
“This project just seems like he wants to talk shit about all the bitches he’s smashing”
I see why you;d say that, but really, so was the last one. Last CD he was vreaking up with them / they were breaking up with him. This go round the fame is making him break up / leave them.
This tape isn’t as good as the last one, because he’s got a CD coming out (and a few old remixes, etc). He wasn’t saving them gems on the last one like he is now. Still, there are some firebombs on this tape. 1,2,3,4, obviously the one with Gibbs. That’s all Ive gotten through at this point.
Track 4 could blow up worldwide…and it’s a fuckinn mixtape track.
ALSO…beats on here are WOW. exactly what i like.
My GOODNESS this dude is DOPE!
I was at that show (USC what up!) and posner was good, but the dude stayed waaayyy too long. He played cooler than me like three times at the end.
Mike P!
I’m glad I got put on to dude’s music. Definitely isn’t the usual for me, but for some reason this white pop/hip-hop dude is okay to listen to.
First tape is better but this one is still nice. The beats on here are otherworldy.
He signed with J records so watch out for guest shots from Rod Stewart and Barry Manilow hahahahaha,
can’t wait to bump this at work tomorrow though.
