These are the words J. Cole recollects upon on his recently liberated testimonial, “Unabomber.” By “it’s” I’m assuming he means the proverbial roller coaster which has been his life for the past year and a half. On this track, Fayetnam’s own continues to do what is slowly making him a household name, spawning intimate lyrics over a somber instrumental. More so than the great majority of young men and women blowing air into microphones, Cole has the inept ability to craft his personal thoughts into vivid pictures. Take this snippet from the record:
“Bill collectors blowin’ us up, they couldn’t fade us
Bitch, I made straight A’s, go head and try to degrade us, haters
But this one’s funny
Man one year later I was on them phones collectin’ money
A lesson for me, everybody got a story dog
Unfortunately learned I can’t do nothin’ for ya dog
I’m tryin’ to run the whole game like a morning jog
With hits like a porno blog
Not hoppin’ out the shower to make $10 an hour
Ain’t judgin’ though, to each his own
You pay your bills and raise your kids inside a decent home
More power to ya…”
See what I mean? Raw honesty over a soothing beat usually equals a quality product, such as the case with “Unabomber.” However, don’t let TSS and your computer speakers be the only interaction with Cole. Catch the Roc Nation golden child on tour with Wale, N*E*R*D and some guy named Shawn in a city near you.
Kudos to Contra hitting me up on GChat with this. Respect.

ive listened to the warm up a couple times and im not that impressed…is there anything else of his i should check for?
Track is spiffy fresh, like a mahogany table, wiped down with an Aquamax!
Been a Stan eversince I first heard the Young Simba joint. St. John’s ain’t been a basketball powerhouse in a hot minute. So it’s good to see a grad doing his thing in a positive manner.
The joint is mad fresh too. Thank you Mr. Tinsley.
Hate to be waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy off subject here, but how’s Georgetown?
@Paw What’s Aquamax?
Yo i heard son is kinda like another drake is this true??? From the looks of his lil verse it’s kinda like they have the same appoarch in expressing themselves
Drake sings. J raps. Good song.
BTW>>>>Who can do me a huge favor and shoot me a link to Photoshop??????
PLEEEEEEEASE
Petey, download “The Come Up.” If you’re not impressed, then, well ionno lol. Everyone isn’t for everybody, ya know?
Rawseee, man Georgetown is cool. My program is mainly all presentations, which I don’t mind seeing as how public speaking isn’t hard at all for me (not saying I’m Obama, but still).
@Rawsee, BIFLEX AQUA MAX is a water based formulation that is non-staining, odourless, non sensitizing and non-allergenic. Biflex AquaMax is registered for the control of all Australian subterranean termite species and for the control of a wide range of general household pests . It is the only bifenthrin water based formulation registered for the control of the paralysis tick.
Whatever, you do, please don’t clean your Mahagony table with Aquamax!
I meant to say OxiClean, but wait there’s more!

Oh, Mac-applicable if possible.
Sorry I’m a leech.
okay this is becoming a insane…..all the hype and dude is like another Drake, and Drake is horrible, so if that is the new blueprint then commercial rap is really going down the drain faster than i thought
As much as I am a Blu Stan, I am almost that much of a J. Cole Stan. Almost but not quite.
Speaking of that, something Blu Feat. J. Cole or vice versa. Can somebody please make that happen?
For all those saying J. Cole is another Drake… DO YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC OR SKIM THROUGH IT?!?!? What you get from J. Cole is a story teller, a lyricist, and real verses that most of us can relate to & understand as if it were our own story. There is no gimmick or grand marketing scheme (e.i. Drake)in place to make you fall in love with J. Cole (as it is with Drake). J. Cole wins (or loses) you strictly with his lyrics, as a real emcee should.
P.S. this is no diss to Drake… I really like his music. Drake writes hit records and J. Cole’s lyrics paint vivid pictures…
@ NiaFre….. He sounds like Drake, Thats a turn off, Blu has that voice already and he has WON ME OVER LAST YEAR, Plus I can relate…..these 2 cats are industry endorsements. Jay put him on a song and the riding hasn’t stopped, and they sound generic at best to MC’s rapping these days.
@hakz75 (sounds like Drake???? In what way?) maybe it’s because I was listening to J. Cole before the song with Jay (and one verse is not that much, an industry endorsement is having a big time rapper or singer on each and every song you release like Drake does and Wale). I honestly think J. Cole is trying to gain success on his own and prove himself as an emcee without relying on the cosign of industry heavyweights; and he is signed to the world champion. That perspective is probably why I fancy J. Cole lol.
Also, J. Cole and Blu are more alike than J. Cole and Drake… truly listen and think about Drakes content, flow and overall sound compared to theirs.
nia free gave him a listen, didn’t like what i heard….if u say so….in my opinion he is another vessel of the machine, he’ll soon be making those horrible sing along songs like drake…..
