Alicia Keys – “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart”

Info calls the sound on this song “‘09 Pat Benatar” and it does have a certain edge and 80’s rock appeal. I’m giving this a thumbs up, knowing that as a cohesive unit, the sound on the album will all come together like a puzzle.
On an aside, I’ve heard mixed reviews and rumors regarding Elements… and why it was pushed back. Those are mostly coming from women though, so I’m assuming that whole scarlet A Alicia’s wearing is causing a little backlash, at least among her female demographic. But with this and “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” things are sounding polished and easy on the ears IMO.

Nice track, it does sound like a Pat Benetar knock off for sure, but it is a good attempt nonetheless.
i did a remix to this its called “Try sleeping with a hard dick (after looking at alicia keys pics)” its gonna be a smash.
She has remixes for No One with Damian Marley, Shaggy and Beenie Man. And the Ghetto Story remix with Cham. Plus her deadbeat dad was Jamaican. I think it would be a great look.

I was just in the whip and the biggest urban station here just played this track…
But before they did, the DJ said something along the lines of:
“Alicia sleeping with a broken heart? I don’t know when she was the cause behind a broken home.”
Then he laughed – hard.
Her career is going to suffer from this. She will bounce back but she made a pretty critical misstep in her walk/journey.
P.S. Pat Benatar??? I am a huge Benatar fan and this sounds nothing like the legend to me. But that is only my opinion.

I think she is suffering from the lack of Krucial Keys (Kerry Brothers, Jr. – her ex).
I doubt he was involved with the album.
Could it be that he was behind her success from the standpoint of putting the songs together in a stunning way? Because what I have heard thus far from the album… yes, I would delay its release as well.
These are NOT singles that she is putting out… they are very mediocre records.
