If TSS was ever personified & able to project sound, the music found in this jam session would be the by-product. The voices in your head wouldn’t talk. Instead, they’d all play instruments & make harmonious music like this.
A couple of weeks ago, we sent out video of Blu and Pharoahe Monch speaking about the upcoming Shafiq Husayn album entitled Shafiq En’ A-Free-Ka dropping October 6th on Plug Research. Later that night, an amazing array of musicians came together to take part in a jam session of epic proportions. Featuring Pharoahe Monch, Shafiq Husayn (SA-RA), Om’Mas Keith (SA-RA), Brook D’leau (of J Davey), Mark De Clive Lowe, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (Suite for Ma Dukes), Thundercat and more, it was definitely a night to remember. Enjoy a video clip from the jam session, as well as the audio featuring special guest, Pharoahe Monch, on mic/hosting duties.
Respect to ArtDontSleep, Plug Research & J Kim for the video & audio. I’ll be waiting patiently for more material from the session to surface.

When i watch this i wonder why many rappers don’t work with these talented musicians… Imagine BP3 produced by Shafiq Husayn…
Skid Row: Youth Gone Wild and 18 & Life were my tunes back in the day, rock on!
This is why when People tell me hip hop is dead, I tell them STFU!
If this released as a full album, I’d cop. I always cop live recordings. The energy & sound is different in a good way.
DOPE!
Reinds me of Nautilus. Dope stuff
Good God this is nice.
