Notable Quotable - KiD CuDi’s “Solo Dolo (Nightmare)”
LOOSIES By TC on September 10, 2009 at 9:45 pm“My world, turns
Flippin’ the bird
To the ones who fig-ure
me out, Kast no not the duo
Back at Shaker Heights
When they knew
Though little brother was a strange one
Boo hoo
Cry me a river
Hater, look who
Traveled out an igloo
Cold cold world wasn’t fit for me at, all
Look at where I stand at
Tall, clutchin’ my Kid Cudi bizalls
Mute muthafucka’s back home
Quick pause
Gargle on my mayo
Look at me I bet I’m the one you think the fail
Floatin’ in my mind
No sail
Ahoy…”
KiD CuDi from “Solo Dolo (Nightmare)” off the album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day
Seeing that this is a previously leaked track and all, a late pass may be in order. Or it’s possible that CuDi’s style is so spaced out, it takes a couple light years to launch into orbit to land on the planet his brain resides. As unorthodox as it may be, it’s a great reference point to for those looking to fully grasp the method to his madness. Plus the before & after action is a nice touch.
Welcome to CuDi Island. Ahoy…
And speaking of previously leaked…

as much as folks (including myself) joke on him & his fanbase…the album is worth listening to.
Listening to 808s & Heartbreak A LOT pretty much prepared me for Man On The Moon.
of all the Cudi songs to Notable Quotable, you pick that one?
damn. do Sky Might Fall or somethin
yeah this album n kanyes could go in their own lil genre cuz its a completely different sound…. but i bump it n im one of them webbie/boosie fanz haha
Every time I listen to this album, I find something else I like about it. It’s growing on me.
I like this album…. i can’t classify it as just hip-hop
It’s definitely not hip-hop IMO, but it has a little hip-hop feel to it at times. If that makes sense.
he sounds like krazie bone on a bad acid trip.
I’m still very much a fan of the “Day N Nite (Crookers Remix)”.
….and the album is straight cheeks.
he makes drake look like fucking rakim. I did how ever like that song called higher.
all together i liked 3 or four tracks.
^ I’m at 5 or 6 tracks, but its still growing on me. lol

makes perfect sense, it your looking for Hip-Hop in this, don’t even push play
i’ve listened to 3x and i’m just not feeling it. HOWEVER, i went through the same shit with 808’s. that shit had to grow on me.
something about this EMO rap x too much singing throws me the fuck off.
oh well….back to M.O.P., MickBoogie’s PB&J, Buckshot/KRSOne, and Raekwon for me…for now.
^ Hahaha Word.

Black Kent ft Bishop Lamont - Pass That (video)
Taken From “Yes I Kent” album coming soon
he uses the word sad 143 times in this album.
the one thing i found peculiar ive never heard spoke about before (but then again i never paid attention) was the influence bone thugs had on his music…i know they are both from cleveland and he prolly grew up on them as did i…im just saying does any one else hear that shit?
this post is a joke right? that Kid Crudi album sucks sumn serious…for an emo rapper er what ever, he sure does lack emotion this is like 808’s retarded stepchild
CUDI?? THAT ALBUM’S OLD AS HELL ALREADY! WHY LISTEN TO THAT WHEN YOU CAN BANG THAT NEW BOOSIE IN THE WHIP!!!

smh @ people still unable to separate CuDi the person & the music.
Thank God that Boosie dropped - Gotty can finally breathe now
Heart of A Lion is in “MY” top ten play list this yur!
I feel that song soooo much.
@ Petey, yeah I always thought of his music as being Bone or Cleveland inspired.
I think the album is personal. It is unorthodox hip hop though.
Definitely solo rider music & headphone ish.
Oh man, the Steelers won and Lil Boosie leaked. The last five minutes couldn’t get any better.
Yeah this album is on its own shit.
But I’m willing to give it a couple of listens before I make any final decisions.
But not right now. I need to check out that Superbad pronto!
This album was great for one reason. After making it to the end (it was a struggle) Hov’s “What we talking about” started up and I finally connected with Blueprint 3. That album is getting waaaaaaaaaaaay too much hate. Lyrics are on point… listen again.
boosie?
*wipes eyes*
FUCK YEAH!!!!!
Im bout to roll a blunt just to smoke to while i bump this.
I love this album. Dude has never pretended to be anything other than what he is. Shit sounds original and the hooks, the HOOKS. Fucking massive. It’s a hip-hop influenced psychedelic pop album. It ain’t for everyone.
yeah i wont front bp3 grew on me…and when you take the album in as a whole the timberland songs that leaked round the album out nicely. that jeezy song is my shit.
Are you serious? Both those songs are straight doo-doo.
*Waits 4 more minutes for Boosie to finish DL’n
Isn’t this a cover version of a Black Sheep remix from back in 1992? I kid you not, I present my case to the jury:-

yeah that jeezy shit great…. I think every jay album had to grow on me…. but im a young guy…
@JR, so let me get this straight young man. You are basically saying that young minds cannot soak in information immediately, it takes time to absorb mass data?
How long would it take for you to peruse and adapt to a Lil Jon album then?
By the way I am Sir Run Run Paw H.D. aka House Doctor, bwoy I’ll house you, bwoy I’ll house you, bwoy I’ll house like a Group Home (but no Lil Dap and Nutcracker one though).
this aggins crazy.

nah doggie was in a rural area for a while 9no net access). im n new mexico… we get whatever plays on the radio (that bs top 40) n i just been gettin to like different tastes.. i was bumpin lil jon atleast before that kings of crunk. but i been getting up on my history… been buyin albums steadily since 03. Guarantee i waz only listening to h town shit n west coast shit before east coast. Some reason we all love bone thugs down here too. actually N E fast spitta…
I love this song; it goes hard when you play it in the car. The bass gets too deep. Ain’t listen to the whole album though. I’m waiting until it comes out. september is going to be THAT MONTH!!!
Why is this quotable or notable?
He does have some good lyrics though, but why this?
“Gargle on my mayo”?
The lyrics on this album are by and large pretty bad
Some good music and hooks though
Why do athlete’s cont. to pose for the Madden cover knowing its history?
Man On The Moon is is Top 3 of 09 for me…already. Liek Deen said, his way with hooks is unprecedented. Shit, the whole album is basically one long hook. Over a bunch of fucking murder beats. “Enter Galactic” and both of the Ratatat-produced songs are fire.
I had super high hopes for this, and it far exceeded them.
Lack of notable quoatables and some severe cheese on the album’s second half are the only sore points from me.
The album is good and I don’t know why. The beats are fantastic. The hooks sounds great. Cudi is great at harmonizing sounds, he’s just not saying much.
I end up listening to the cd again and again though.
He’s got the Fat Joe, Jim Jones syndrome, where his album > his talent.
That’s a skill to say the least.
the album has grown on me, but that doesn’t stop it from being ready for radio emo hip hop. i know it may sound too spaced out to be too radio friendly but hear me out. slug of atmosphere is pretty emo, please see godlovesugly, but ants beats will never allow for radio play. cudi’s flow may be under question, but beat-wise this is a good album.
also, gargle on my mayo was unnecessary. it is jarring, halts the flow and seems immature.
I dod like the Cudi album somewhat
What I want to know, TSS. When we have a week of Rae’s album, Jay’s album and Buckshot and KRS’s album the notable quotable we get is from Cudi?! Anyone who says that speaks highly of Cudi is a god damn liar lol
This joint gets 3 spins anytime this songs comes on.
hmmmm gooo bang that freddie gibbs - midwestgangstaboxframecadillac
now thats some hard shit
It’s definitely not hip-hop IMO, but it has a little hip-hop feel to it at times. If that makes sense.
=====================================================
Meh…
I’d say the album is rooted in hip hop, and branches out into other genres (electronic, r&b, almost ambient at times). But I get what you’re saying - the album doesn’t fit the traditional mold of a “hip hop album”, and that’s one of the things that makes it so great.
Lil boosies shit i cant even beileve you people could compare his garbage to the likes of kid cudi, You just hate on him cause he’s different and has a new style of rapping. Give it a year and i gaurantee you’ll be on his nuts hard.
