Last year I posted a track from openly-gay French Freddie-Mercury-clone Mika and one of the comments read “I’m embarrassed to see this endorsed on this site.” Aside from said hate, majority of the feedback was surprisingly positive, which tells me most of our ears can hear past the glamboyant image and borderline glance of the Grammy-nominated pop singer.

It also tells me you just might like “One Foot Boy,” an album cut from his new, critically-acclaimed second album, The Boy Who Knew Too Much.

Don’t worry listeners, what starts off sounding like a pretentious loading screen from an old 8-bit NES game quickly turns tempting once the kick begins, only to blossom into an exceptionally bouncy blend of stuttering keys, Windex-clean drums and a bottom-feeding bassline, with the oh-so-proper fluttering and ingrained harmonies needed to tie it all together.

If you don’t like it…fine. To each their own.

Just, please, don’t hit snooze solely because you reside on Front St.
