CuDi scored A Bathing Ape collabo…and his Man On The Moon sprung a leak. I’ll throw “Soundtrack 2 My Life” up because it’s already made the rounds. It’s a proper introduction to the album, continuing the “lonely stoner” theme that Cudder gave us when we first met him on “Day-N-Night.”

A beautiful album
production is pretty interesting…but his flow or whatever you want to call his off-key sing-song monotone lyrics all sound the same through out the album. i had high hopes for this, damn. a kid named cudi>>>>MOTM
CuDi aint a rapper, he’s more in the vein of N.E.are.d. If your looking for a rapper, you’ll be sorely dissapointed.
I just do not understand the hype with this guy.
he sucks.
no homo
cant wait to cop his album in stores!!!!!!!!
the album (granted I haven’t listened to it all the way through) sounds pretty great
I agree 100% vicsp, A Kid Named CuDI >>>>>>> Man on the Moon. I thought I was gonna cop for sure, now…
the album is really good. he makes good music, is deep and original. its good the only song i dont like is hyyyyer it doesnt fit in.
@frydaddy,
U said the album was “deep” which is ironic because me and my girlfriend were listening to it and found it very adolescent. I’m not even saying that in a negative way but lyrically I would think Cudi wrote this album when he was maybe 15 Not 20 something. So we were saying it might appeal to younger ppl and u went as far as to say its “deep” so I’m curious are you older than 18?
Sucks…..
Big time!!!!
completely agree A Kid Named Cudi>>>>>>MOTM. It felt more focused, but my first listen to the mixtape, i was like, “Ehhh, it’s is cool” only later did i really begin to love it, and i am hoping this album is the same way. i honestly like BP3 more on my first 2 listens. only heard both albums twice, and digging BP3 more, at this moment, that may switch, but i don’t understand the hate.
I am listening to the leak of the album right now. I’ll tell you guys right now: this is not what you’re expecting. Well, maybe you are expecting this, but Cudi is dropping some experimental, melodic, and very vibe-friendly eargasms. The entire album is conceptually written and follows that tone all the way to the end. If you are expecting to hear some B.o.B-style bangers, some Drake lyricism, or Asher’s energy, nah, Cudi slows it down and entertain his own lane with Man On The Moon. It’s not for everybody, but if you can appreciate an artist being creative on his own level, then I think this deserves a listen. I think the hype is well justified.
Favorites so far:
4. Solo Dolo (nightmare)
08 Sky Might Fall (the remix with Rick Ross on mixtapes ain’t half bad, either)
12. Make Her Say Feat. Kanye West & Common
I’m not much of a tree smoker, in fact, I’m proudly retired from elevating my mind state, but I enjoy this album from beginning to end because it’s different. Like… really different. And it sounds pretty fucking good, too.
MOTM>>>
Gotta say after hearing this album, learning about T-pain helping kanye with the auto-tune, and No ID producing the singles, I really wonder how much of 808s and heartbreak was created by kanye and how much was CuDi and others
CuDi is alternative hip hop not a rapper
wow all you haters that are dissin kudi are stupid. He is a beast with his words and rymes. He is a new generation of music
amazing album best in years
finally hip-hop for adults — mature lyrics about honest emotion
if Jay-Z is rap for adults, Kudi is hip-hop for adults

Little Brother was making Grown Folk Hip-Hop when Cudi was still folding t-shirts at the Bape store.
