Does regional rap include NY acts? If so, the same ethos lies here with Brooklynite K. Bain as any of the other acts that fit the bill—but that’s always been intrinsic in New York emcees—most of America just stopped listening a while ago.
Yet Bain’s a unique case. A co-founder of the first chapter of the Blackout Arts Collective with a Masters in Urban Policy from Brooklyn College, it’s a little awkward hearing the gun talk from him. But hey, like he spits on his first single, “…came a long way from little to no dough, plastic on the sofa, hand-me-down clothes.” As us all.

If Brother Ali’s album gets anything less than 4.5 Cigs y’all are trippin…That joint plays start to finish and is filled with some dope ass lyrics that are coming straight from dudes soul….Perhaps it’s because I am an older hip hop fucker, but dude raps with a maturity level that only a few emcees manage to pull off….Definately an album for anyone that wants a break from all the fake shit thats out there..Ali makes Hip Hop for grown folks…..
