Really though, I snuck A Strange Arrangement into the rotation the other week when I went to visit my parents. Both of them, especially my Dad, are avid Motown fans. They kept guessing back & forth on if the material was old or new, then who it was. When I told’em it was a new cat from L.A. by way of Ann Arbor, they both gave me a sideways look as if it was too good to be true. It was then that I knew Mayer had one. He’s got Hollywood floozies, John Mayer & two beautiful, old Black souls groovin’ and all in harmony.
