“I Chose You”

From my earliest memories of music, my mother always displayed her admiration for Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Looking back on it, this is probably the reason why I’ve been such a big fan of dude seemingly my entire life. He’s a legend to say the least, but still doesn’t receive anywhere near the recognition he deserves.

Still, with over 30 years experience in the music industry, the co-founder of LaFace Records is continuing to add work experience to an already impressive resume’. “I Choose You” finds Edmonds sticking to the script he’s followed since day one, beautiful lyrics over a melodic beat (||). Supposedly, this is a demo for Mario likely for his upcoming album.

For the record, I will forever argue “Every Time I Close My Eyes” is one of the greatest songs ever penned. What? It is.
