We go through the same ball n’ chain routine everytime a rapper is set to release a new album. “It’s better than I’ve ever been” they say. “It’s a classic” they boast. Knowing damn well the recording process was about as sporadic as their last consecutive string of hits. Now that 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct has a definite another tentative release date of November 17th, it’s time to let the hyperbole’s roll:
This record could potentially be the one to top Get Rich or Die Tryin’. I think it could impact as hard, but not necessarily sell as much.
Yeah, O.K you’re right Fiddy.
Here’s a bit of astounding morsel of fact for you. Sales = impact. If you do recall, Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was the forebearer for the first-week numbers fascination Hip-Hop is currently suffering from. In 2003, whether the operator was a stone cold street goon or suburban blonde hair princess, you couldn’t breeze by a vehicle without hearing “High All The Time” blaring from the speakers — clear, cut evidence that “In The Club” had just finished playing. And not for nothing, it’s been pretty much established that his debut is worth the contents of the Smoke Shop.
I don’t think this, this or even this has made the impact to even be having this conversation. No more G-Money in the studio for you.

Self-destruction is a tough thing to digest, it’s a slow process, and he ain’t got nothin’ but time
Does he?
In the words of OFficer Ricky
50 is dealing in Munghey Business. lol
“50 cent motherfucker , Im hot on these streets…”
i hope he dont flop but i cant see it right now…it dont feel like fifty time.
i think if he would have dropped this before rick ross dropped deeper then rapidshare he would have won.
“I say I get it in it’s because I get it iyyynn.” (c) Curt Jackson
I feel like the only cat rooting for 50.
that’s cuz you prolly are…Deen. you prolly are.
FYI Fat Joe’s album drops Oct. 6th. JOSE 2. Capitol Music WONT’T be making any posters, etc. for the release.
I ain’t even a G-Unit fan like that. But 50 provides a lot of the missing testosterone in the genre now. Dudes are singing/autotuning, at least on the mainstream level.
Fuck it all. I’mma go bump this Gibbs shit.
I can’t lie. I would love to hear another 50 album that would ride, but at this point I don’t think it’s even possible.
Saying it’ll be better than GRODT is basically closing yourself in a box you have no way out of.
He just needs to wear more suits, talk about beach chairs, and see if he can get on Oprah
OK, OK, but on to more pressing matters.
Who’ll take one for the team and subscribe to that secret to white teeth link that is always being advertised when you come on TSS.
I would like my teeth to shine like Curtis’ and I know that the advert holds the key to unlocking this secret.
I’m with you Deen (Pawse) I still root for Fif
Is that Fat Joe and Lil Kim using the Autotune ? xD

“missing testosterone”
but this is the guy who destroyed Ja Rule for singing and every song he puts out he is singing the same tone on every hook. He’s BUTT and i will never understand what ya’ll see in him
A Def Jam From The Blastmasta
word up!!! krs’ the teacha!! one!
“Damn homey/In high school you was the man homey/what the fuck happened 2 you?”
50 is hilarious, “impact as hard, but not necessarily sell as much”
he’s predicting a flop of epic proportions…
Changing the subject, everyone buy the new Brother Ali cd, US. It is incredible. Now back to the subject: WE’LL SEE FIF!
Co-sign, Deen…
I understand the complaints, but sometimes you just need a soundtrack for those times when you just wanna vicariously b*tch slap somebody.
I still support him. If promoted right, ‘I get It In’ could have been a hit on Urban and Rhythmic radio. Ok, you’re Right was never a single so haters need to relax and stop calling it a ‘flop single’.
Baby By me is not special in my opinion bu it’s doing well on the radio. Nearing top 50 on rhythmic and releasing on iTunes very soon. So let’s see.
I have a feeling BISD will be a solid album. I still have confidence in him.
Navjosh — what does “COULD HAVE BEEN A HIT ON URBAN & RHYTHMIC RADIO” mean? Because, he DID release it & push for adds, & got spins for a second, but it straight up DIDN’T CATCH. because it is neither that catchy nor is it that good.
& explain “Ok, you’re Right was never a single so haters need to relax and stop calling it a ‘flop single’.” Because, he DID factually release it as a single, WITH A BIG BUDGET VIDEO, & again, campaigned for it to be added at Radio. It got spins just the same as “Get It In” did at first, maybe even more. But it ALSO didn’t catch.
They’re just not “hits” like that. they’re not undeniable. “I Get Money” was his last undeniable single, & I figured he’d be able to tell the difference this time, after his complaints that the Curtis album would’ve had better buzz if “I Get Money” was the actual first single instead of the 4th attempt at a first single.
