More so than not, protege’s never live up to their predecessor’s hype. Sometimes the reason being the umbrella is just too big to escape, but most of the time they just suck. I may not be in the majority when I say this, but Pimp C’s Trill Entertainment understudies, Webbie and Boosie, I’m huge fans of. Specifically Webbie because, while he may not make you think how you can change the world, he does provide you with some great riding music. For the record, both of his albums still receive rotation in my whip, especially during these summer months.

Earlier today, I was pleasently pleased to come across some new music from the man who still rocks the (more polished) Kobe Bryant mini-fro. Bringing Lil’ Phat along for the occasion, Webbie speaks on his favorite subjects: cars, money, women and the “savage life.” Truthfully, I’m cool with that and hopefully you are too. Expect to hear this at clubs nationwide which specialize in a strict playlist of Boosie, Wayne, Gucci, Rick Ross and the occasional Plies records.
