What’s The Secret?…
AUDIO By Beware on August 10, 2009 at 1:57 pm
You might have noticed that I have personally been posting a lot of non-Hip-Hop choices as of late. Basically, what it comes down to is that I don’t give a shit about most of these materialistic egomaniac rappers anymore and I just want something to vibe to. Nothing personal, you know, but a lot of ‘em just suck.
Which brings me to the dankness.
As a favor to those feeling my sentiment (II), here is a little piece of heaven from Massachusetts electronic-pop band, Passion Pit. Already getting spins in big markets, “Little Secrets,” reminds of the moment I came out of my mother’s womb. It’s bright. Loud. Heavy claps. And that goddamn synth bassline just makes me want to cry it’s so good.
Expect big things from not only this song, but the group in general, because everything I’ve heard from their second album, Manners, is straight pifftastic.

Passion Pit’s about to blow up for sure. They were over at MTV last week, and played Conan too. “Little Secrets” is definitely the best song off of Manners. Love the complete disregard for usual musical conventions. I mean, who uses kid vocals anymore? Apparently these guys.
I give you props for sure on Passion Pit. that Har Mar post, though… Beware, I almost stopped coming to TSS bc of that. Unfortunately, I know guys who know him so I’ve been hating on him for a long time. Nothing personal. But if you want to get into a good indie group, I say check out Monsters Are Waiting. One of my favs.
im down.
I dig the alternative finds. It makes the blog more well rounded.
ive been on them for a little, check out their ep chunk of change if you like this. itss pretty dope

yeah,a while back I heard a “Sleepyhead” remix somewhere and I immediately went out and bought Manners. Very dope indeed.
This is seriously dope. Good look, Beware.
I should have read the comments ahead of me. “Dope” seems to be played out when describing these guys. How about, “surprisingly awesome.”
Ah… so I’m not alone on being bored with rappers. Thank the Lord.
I like this. It’s surprisingly awesome haha…
Thanks, Beware.
@ Franchise…
I’m sure others probly did stop coming to the site after seeing that fat ass in his skivvies. lol. Either way, I think he’s fresh.
@ Realize..

@ LC…

Ever since that PSP commercial with “Sleepyhead” came out, i’ve been listening to them, bought the album about a month ago. Definitely one of the best CD’s i’ve purchased all year.

HEY WORLD. IT’S YA BOY…
Now that I’ve got the album and I’ve given it a couple of spins, I can honestly say it doesn’t disappoint.
What you all don’t realize is that B has been on a tear for about a yr now. I’ve got a whole playlist of off the beaten path tracks that he’s suggested. I don’t even listen before dling anymore, I just grab it lol
Passion Pit killed it yesterday at Lollapalooza. If you can, check them at a small venue before they outgrow them. Chicks love these guys too. Small, sweaty, packed venue + lots of girls + catchy dance songs = heaven.
@ Gotty
I for one, am not that in sync with Beware (Not that there’s anything wrong with that) so I’ll listen before I fill up some hard drive space, but yes, the guy knows his shit.
P.S.
“Not that there’s anything wrong with that” = The Early 90s “No Homo”
songs w/ lil kids singing = cool…
songs w/ choirs in the background = cooler…
songs w/ a lil kid choir = classic…
@ Beware
totally with you man. It’s a very meager (American) rap year up to now.
To me most of these cats are stand up comedians.
I find myself backtracking to the immortal Cube once again (he has to be one of the 5 goat)
Anyway, I’m basically a funkateer who loves everything that hits the spot. And these did hit the spot lately.
