All C.O. jokes aside, “Mafia Music” is still one of the hardest records to drop in 2009. It’s also one of the most controversial. Just when the remnants of Ricky’s dispute with 50 was beginning to become a distant memory, another famous name now has a problem with the record, Floyd Mayweather. Questioning the true amount of the boxing champion’s wealth, Ross threw out the bar, “That Mayweather money lookin’ funny in the light.” Never one to bite his tounge, Floyd recently reminded the Triple C’s front man he hasn’t forgotten about the lyrical jab.
“I don’t have to take no shots at Rick Ross. I don’t think he’s making $20-$30 million every time he goes out there to perform. I got my own name, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. That’s original. With his rap career, I wish him nothing but the best.”
Traditionally, anyone taking shots at Ross have mentioned his law enforcement past. Add “Money” Mayweather to the list.
“[His] stats and credentials don’t rhyme. One minute he said he wasn’t a CO or cop, next minute he is,” Mayweather told AllHipHop.com. “He can learn how to get money from me. If he’s a cop and rapping about selling drugs, I guess he was a dirty cop! You know me, I’m not ducking and dodging no one, it’s not hard to find me. I’m in Miami all the time, Atlanta, everywhere.”
….
“Rap has truly changed. He was at my Hatton fight, cheering me on. I guess he got upset because I’m cool with 50 Cent. But like I said, if I need someone arrested I’ll call him.”
With all the bad press the sport has been receiving lately, boxing doesn’t need arguably it’s biggest name having disagreements with an entertainer. Part of me wants to say let Floyd and Kimbo fight this thing out and both parties can call it even from there. More importantly than Mayweather taking shots at Ross, I need Mayweather to start throwing verbal punches in Manny Pacquiao’s direction.
That’s what I’ll pay to see.

[8/5] Fat Joe To Big Pun’s Wife, “I Have Not Made A Dollar Off Pun Since His Passing”
Fat Joe has responded to accusations made by the late Big Pun’s wife Liza Rios, in which she claims she has not been paid Pun’s fair share of earnings.

Joey gave an account of the financial backing he provided to Pun’s wife and promised he had not made any profits from the rapper’s music since his death.
“Immediately after Puns death I gave Liza Rios the whole advance of the Endangered Species album, NO ONE but Liza made a dollar off that album. I also gave her the total advance from the publishing company that was due to Big Pun…I’ve never made a dollar off Big Pun since his passing. This was hundreds of thousands of dollars of frivolous spending, after the second payoff I washed my hands. Since then we have been through 6 lawyers, harassment on various radio stations and online mediums every time she needs more money. I also have legal documents stating that NO ONE is making money off of Big Pun…I sympathize with Liza, but I have done already done enough for her. In these economic times we as parents need to be resilient and do what it takes to provide for our own families.” (The Life Files)
Rios’ interview landed online earlier this week and explained why her kids were living in a shelter and how her finances quickly diminished after Pun died.
“After Pun passed I didn’t receive a lot of money,” Rios said in an interview. “I received some money from publishing but I received exactly $160,000 and something of publishing…The house I was paying mortgage for was my husband’s, wasn’t paid out, the five years I was living there before I sold it, I spent over $120,000 just on mortgage. Then you got the kids, the food, the clothes, legal fees and when there’s no money coming in, it’s just money coming out.” (Ms Drama TV)
Former Terror Squad member Cuban Link accused Joe of shady business practices in an interview earlier this summer.
“It’s gon be some sh*t man [if I see him in the street],” Link promised in an interview. “Yeah, not that I want to put it out there like that, ’cause you know. It’s still serious enough that I don’t get along with him like that. His talent definitely was business. He’s a business man to the point that he know what he wanted and he’ll get it, whatever. He’ll use his gift of gab to get it and once he gets it, he uses people and throws ‘em away. That’s what he does. He always rides with what’s hot right now. You always see the hottest n*ggas that are out, he always knows hot to suck up to them so he gets that record from ‘em so he stays in the loop…[Big] Pun gave him the strength, sold a million records and gave him business power…Talking about blacklisted, he blacklisted Franky Cutlass, that’s back in the day sh*t right there…King Sun, those are the people that wrote his first album.” (Forbez DVD)
Pun, who passed away from a heart attack in February 2000, has inspired rappers including Termanology who previously spoke with SOHH about the emcee’s lyrical talent.
“It’s a tough thing ’cause like anybody that’s Puerto Rican, they’re gonna compare you to Pun, no matter what,” he stressed. “That’s the box we get put in. But I just felt like, when I compare myself to Pun, it’s more like a lyrical thing. It just happens to be like, you know my style is kinda similar, ’cause I pretty much bit my style from Kool G Rap and Pun was heavily influenced from G Rap, also.” (SOHH)
“Rap has truly changed. He was at my Hatton fight, cheering me on. I guess he got upset because I’m cool with 50 Cent. But like I said, if I need someone arrested I’ll call him.”

“Still waiting for Marquez v Mayweather.”
Damn skizzy me too, if homeboy WANTS to get paid he better get on this shit while he’s still younger
if Money May doesn’t win his next fight, Ricky will talk about him for sure really soon after
Due to rappers running out of people to call out, and boxers running out of people to fight, the two have decided to join forces in beef-suckitude. This seems like a sad commentary about the state of both groups.
When did I get my posting privileges revoked?
^ ?
once Marquez gets healed up….Marquez v. Mayweather will happen (my Mexican/latino heritage tells me to root for Marquez….but seing Mayweather win with a chance at going after Pacquiao is just as good).
is Pac-Man scheduled to fight someone in the near future? either way…if both Pacquaiao and Mayweather get through their next fights unscathed…we could see that mega fight happen…mid-to-late 2010 perhaps?

Floyd will constantly until eventually the finish of time be known as a ducker to Manny Pacquiao until eventually he gets in the ring with him. Generally until eventually they induct them into the HOF with Manny possessing the greatest fanfare as the greatest fighter of this period and not Floyd mainly because Floyd wouldnt face him.
