Re-Lit…
GENERAL By Beware on August 30, 2009 at 9:14 pmAs most of you know by now, former powerhouse record label Death Row was on the auction block earlier this year.
Within months of copping the company’s somewhat depreciated assets, Lara Lavi, current CEO of WIDEawake Death Row, has already initiated new releases from the label. Amidst praise and neighs alike, on September 1st the first album distributed will be a reissue of Dr. Dre’s Chronic, called Chronic Re-Lit. While technically this is old news to most of you, the update is in the audio below.
As Lavi had promised, Re-Lit will include seven bonus tracks, letting listeners hear a few leftovers from their favorite inmates’ golden years.
In my opinion, the random and loose organization of these songs should’ve never been placed next to the timeless pieces included within the OG Chronic, but that doesn’t mean new material from Snoop Doggy Dogg, Jewell, CPO and Tha Dogg Pound isn’t welcomed. However, seeing as I’ve only included a few, you’ll just have to support the release if you want to hear the rest.

dogg collar has to be post Chronic. thats more like doggfather snoop. which is an album i havent heard in forever.
lmao… after “seeing as I’ve only included a few, you’ll just have to support the release if you want to hear the rest,” we get chris’s comment.
Good looks on the DL link. Sticking to the white woman… No Kobe.
I suspect these tracks dont have sh_t to do with the ORIGINAL Chronic album.
Probably Death Row just cobbled up a couple unreleased leftover tracks from a few artists they have the rights to, and tried to re-hash a true classic. Which is a no-no in my book.
Mind you, a Chronic “Remastered” CD has also been released a couple years ago (which included “B____ aint Sh_t”). So this is pure, desparate greed we’re talking about at this point.
@ ?estion marc they just bought the entire catalogue what the hell are they supposed to do aside from sell it? lol
Steady Bloggin recently dropped a mass of mostly lo-fi Death Row outtakes from ‘92-96, for anyone who’s interested in searching Google. But I’m still waiting on “Mr. Officer,” which Dre played for Ronin Ro and discussed in ‘92 in a “Source” interview and then all of the legendary Dre and Death Row tracks I’ve heard about I will have actually heard.
