The good folks at ESPN got their hands of footage from Pacman Jones’ infamous All-Star Weekend strip club spectacular and wisely aired it last week.  I rolled downstairs on Thursday or Friday and this video was the first thing I saw when I turned on ESPN that day.  It definitely wasn’t what I expected, as besides the amount of money being tossed around it looked like a few of the strip clubs I’ve visited heard about in my day.  Being in Vegas I just expected the chicks to be of a higher quality, sure the important assets were blurred out, but for Vegas’ sake I hope that wasn’t their crème de la crème.

Watching Pacman navigate to club affirmed the “he associated with the bad crowd” stigma he’s gained.  Not to say he’s an angel, but he seemed pretty docile off in the corner tossing Washington’s around haphazardly and ignoring the pile of strippers on the floor gathering money.  I’ve got my theories about the correlation between an athletes success and their amount of social interaction in regards to nightlife.  Without fail, almost every athlete I came across at Ohio State who’s now playing professionally in the NBA or NFL had the same deer in headlights look outside of anything related to their true major.  They spend so much time working on their craft, there’s little time to do anything else.  Pac Man had to be the same way.

This depiction of making it rain also disappointed me.  I guess perception is truly not reality, because when I heard he had $100,000 dollars I just assumed it would look like a blizzard inside of there.  Especially with Nelly and Jermaine Dupri (who I never knew were there until now) in the building.  I must commend JD for his impromptu Making It Rain 101 for the strippers, but that night looked like a lost cause. Coincidentally, Dupri told HHDX that such displays are customary in the A. “A lot of yall comment on how stupid it is. It might be stupid to you, but this is what we do…We eat, we kick it, we throw money. Don’t make this one situation blow the whole thing out.”

Apparently, the trial is still going on and people are trying to say this is damning evidence against Pacman. I’m not sure why, since the video cuts off abruptly. Because he looks in the video the same way he’s been portrayed by the media: clueless and caught up in the lifestyle portrayed in the videos.  I’m not saying he’s with or without  guilt, but this video in my opinion isn’t going to swing the jury the way the prosecution wants it to.
