The Dopplegangaz - “Good Hygiene”

It took me awhile to say what I wanted about this cut. Hell, I’m not even sure if the words I’m typing right now are what I want to portray to the World Wide Web. When this was passed through the inbox not so long ago, I was immediately taken by back the name, The Dopplegangaz. The content of the record was highlighted with the phrase “all my chicks with the sweaty crotch, put your legs up” and basically gave me an idea of what I was getting myself into.

For three minutes and 51 seconds, Matter ov Fact and EP discussed sweaty palms, armpits, dandruff and all things perspiration over a beat that I’m pretty sure A Tribe Called Quest would have slaughtered in their hay-day. In between all that, lessons of dream chasing can be found, too. I think. You have to forgive me if I’m not up these guys music, but I am willing to hear more before I base a definite opinion. Coincidentally, one thing I did learn from the duo was they embrace their individuality with open arms.

From parts unknown dwell the ghastly duo. Matter ov Fact (emcee) & EP (emcee/producer) were sent down to earth as the last two descendants of The Rap Lords. After word spread of their rugged sound, multi platinum producer Darrell “Digga” Branch quickly caught wind of the groggy pack and signed them to his Six Figga Entertainment imprint. Now the short man and height man (with no hype man) are rumored to be working tirelessly on a debut, 2012: The New Beginning, which will be released in 2009. No word has been said to confirm their whereabouts, but they are known to terrorize New York City, popping up randomly at venues to smoke mics.

And Wayne calls himself a Martian.
