TMZ’s name, not mine. No dunk from an instructional summer camp should warrant four exclamation points. However, when you live by sensationalism and others misfortune, it makes perfect sense. Normally anything TMZ does is off my radar and I rely on others to bring things to my attention from that realm (knowing TC, it works out pretty well).
So when I was awakened by an email from David D. saying that TMZ had footage of the dunk I knew today was gonna be a good day. Last day of work before a mini-vacation and Nike/LeBron’s dunkgate will finally be coming to an end.
Think of this as retribution for making the Space Jam’s a quickstrike and trying to play us on the True Blues.

Apparently everyone present at the camp said that the dunk wasn’t extraordinary, a simple two handed slam, and that LeBron wasn’t playing all out. Even the dude who dunked didn’t even think anything about it. Just more ammo for the haters. This is stupid.

The dunk wasn’t bad at all. He got banged on, but no where near the level it was hyped up to be.

A dunk is a dunk and apparently not many people on here have even dunked on a player before…hell I bet 97% cant even touch the rim…
Whomever decided to hide this footage is a fool; they made things 1000 times worse. It wasn’t like dude from Xavier Kevin Johnson’ed Lebron and dunked on him and sat on his shoulders afterwards.
A dunk is a dunk maybe. But if you have ever dunked on someone before you know that most people don’t even bother with dunks like the one in the video. Most guys just jog back up the court, hi-five their teammates and play D. A really spectacular dunk pauses a game for about 3 minutes. These types of dunks happen 4 times a game during regular pick-up games. The dunker himself admitted that he didn’t see the big deal. This was all media created hype.
In short, the cover-up was worse than the crime… I seen harder dunks involving coffee and pastries.
but it does go to show you how serious people take their brands these days. Like somehow this makes Lebron less of a dominant NBA player or something.
