Co-sign TSM…including being a Skins fan. Allegiances aside, McNair was a great example for kids everywhere (black or white) learning how to play the game. Dude could have his throwing arm broken and still played without complaints or excuses. McNair + Eddie George was a great combo for years. I was SHOCKED to hear this; and nothing is really shocking to me anymore. RIP Air McNair.

Gotta feel for his wife and whole fam in this one too. Just a shame.

Whatever personal angles may be there, I agree. If a DUI is the worst you can dig up on a high profile professional athlete, why mention it?

Granted Hines was speculating immediately after the news broke & he may/may not have had time to do extensive research. But seriously, during his time in & around Nashville, you rarely heard anyone speak negatively of McNair and publicly he stayed out of the spotlight.

I think that McNair was a more subtle, down-to-earth player. I am from Mississippi. He was always on the news doing something for the community. He was always working with the kids; sponsoring football camps, etc. I only remember the good about him, I guess because I never looked for the bad! I hate how people always look for the worst thing a person has done in their lifetime to include in comments. I mean, wow, a DUI? Are you serious? I don’t even think that it was appropriate to mention that at this time. But, I guess that shows the character of the person that is being interviewed when they have to point out negative things of the deceased!

GREAT write up Gotty. I was really sad to hear this yesterday. I’m a die hard Patriots fan, but I’ve always said McNair was one of my favorite non patriot players. I just had so much respect for the way he tried his hardest every time I watched him play, and battled through so many injuries with out ever complaining. Dude was the man and I’m really feeling this lost for Titans fans, it’s such a blow. RIP
