Novel - Suspended Animation Mixtape
AUDIO By MZ on July 4, 2009 at 9:49 am
In honor of Independence Day, Novel drops off his Suspended Animation mixtape in an effort to liberate us radio’s bland playlists. Consisting of both original works and interpolations, Novel sings and (occasionally) raps his way through the tape. Boasting features by Ced Hughes, Ghostface, Joell Ortiz, Papoose & Spree Wilson this could be considered by some to be easy listening. Judge for yourself after the break.

Everything I have heard from Novel has surpassed my expectations. gonna get this in a minute. The “sky might fall” was alot cooler than Cudi’s, and I like Cudi’s version. Oh well, happy 4th, Bud Light by the pool all day. Work gave us a free 12 pack, pays to sell beer every once in awhile.
haha, you sell beer too? I know that Neil D. is in the beer distribution biz as well.
Yup, sell for America’s last major beer…oh well nevermind, Budweiser. Where is Neil out of?
Seattle. I’ll link him to the comments & he can share what he wants to share b/c I’m not 100% sure who he works for or in what capacity. i know he’s into beer, liquor, wine & such.
i gotcha mybad
nah, it’s cool. I shot him a link. he’ll prolly come thru…polly & hook up more places to sell beer to lol.
hahaha
Sup Veego, Yeah i’m Seattle Metro all day. I have zero big commercial yellow beers to sell…The Company i work for is strictly into Craft and Speciality Beers, Wines, Sake’s, and Mead’s(Honey Wine)….I pretty much make a living off clowning Bar owners with shitty beer line ups….not to pick on your brands but if I see Widmer, Red Hook, Michelob, American Ale(what a joke), Sam Adams, Alaskan, Stella, Slim Chance(really?), Hoegarden, or any other bullshit beers on a draft line up or beer list, I have to straight up son the owner for having such boring beers in his or her establishment. Of course I do it with a little tact..lol
Not sure where you’re at but up in this market it is mainly craft beers…you don’t see many big brands in most alehouses etc…still a few yellow beer taverns around tho..
Some of the brands that seem to kill it around here are, Stone, Dog Fish Head, Avery, North Coast, Duvel, Allagash, Bear Republic, Delierum, Ommegang, Russian River, Bitburger, just to name a few…
It is a fun industry to be in. Sometimes its hard to call it work. I especially enjoy not having to deal with big brand distribution, and all the other shit that goes with the Big Beers….I used to sell Coors, Heineken, Harp, Stella, Hoe, Bass,Guinness, Pabst, Sam Adams, Blue Moon, and a ton of other big brands and I would feel like I had 100 different bosses. Now I do my own thing, sell who I want to, and hardly ever hear from my boss…Best part is that I always have GOOD BEER to drink.
You could compare my beer book to a Sneaker Shop that gets all the rare quickstrike joints….Limited production one of brews etc….
*tries to commit the beer brands that NDiamonds name-dropped to memory*
I feel like Joell grows more and more on each track.
“I breathe in disappointment, exhale rap”
Made me rewind a couple times.
This ‘tape’ is super tight, jeah! (MC Eiht)
yea, my market is 62% Bud. Alabama just opened up to high gravity, a month ago, so we are just getting the microbrews coming into our areas. I feel you though, my market would be extremely boring in your opinion. I’ve only been in the buisness a little over a year, after working in the establishments for 10. It is just kinda cool to find someone else frequenting my spots on the same page in the same buisness. We just picked up Great Divide, Tommy Knocker, Durango, and St. Bernard. So honestly I am just learning stuff you been on for a minute. Everyone down here is asking about Delerium, Dogfish, & Fat Tire, all waitng til 2010 to come to our area.
^^^Great Divide has some fantastic beers. Their Hercules Double IPA is one of the best values out there for a big high alc beer… I just made some good money slangin their Barrel aged Chocolate Yetti….Limited one of brews are so easy to sell up here….At least you work for a Bud house that has some decent beers….not all Life Ring Pale Ale or whatever that shit is called…lol…Sell Great Divide with confidence..that beer is the shit…Drinking Stone Aniversary 13 right now…the hoppiest beer that they have brewed to date. 22 oz bottle will cost you 7.99…mixes well with fat ass joints and xanax….lol
This novel set is better than most albums ‘proper’ that will drop in 2009.
If this is just a taster of things to come then I can’t wait for The Autobiography, jeah! (MC Eiht)
keep me in the loop for new beers man. i am gonna talk to my owner tuesday, tell him about the brands you were talking about. that hercules is making a dent already in my market, it is definetly the most talked about i was gona talk to him about that barrel aged tuesday for my town’s first tap room. keep me posted though. like i said i ain’t scared to learn about beers i don’t have my fingers on from folks who know what they are talking about. thanks man.
is this mixtape any good?
@Dolla’ C, yes it is very good indeed.
