Mickey Factz Reacts To His Mid-Term Grade
GENERAL By David D. on July 1, 2009 at 4:46 pmWhen I wrote the XXL Midterm grades a few weeks ago, I asked TC if he thought any of the class would read it. He shot back with a quick “of course.” Lo and behold one of the Freshmen, Mickey Factz, saw the article and had a few choice words for his grade.
I caught up with Mickey backstage at The Rock the Bells in Chicago on Saturday (more on that later) and discussed his grade, his deal and why he doesn’t kick 16’s, even for TSS Flip cams.

Mickey is too ill with it, I hope his album gets released. His mixtapes are fire.

i honestly hope mickey is successful. B.O.B., Blu, & Mickey are the guys I worry will not break the “Hip Pop” plain of success they have the potential to. I see Mickey doing what so many have tried and failed over the past 5 years, bringing back New York if he can get around holding artistic merit and still gaining mainstream success. As far as an MC goes, I think he is close to the top of that list: subject matter, voice, flow, charisma, being relatable, etc. he has potential to be great. I will buy every album and supposrt him to the fullest.
I’m rootin’ for dude to. Unfortunately, it’s like people can’t hear him or don’t “get it.”
I remember when I first heard him on his cover of Kick, Push called Spray and Paint. And I thought he was alright, nothing too impressive. But then, I got put on to one of his mixtapes In Search of Nerd….Lyrics were just out of this world. And it just seemed like he was getting better with each mixtape. Flashback was ill, and Heaven’s Fallout was just CRACK!!!!
To see that he wouldn’t break TSS off with a 16 and the reason he gave….That just shows you the type of artist he is!
Definitely copping the album when it drops!

Mickey peaked my intrest with Flashback and won me over with Heaven’s Fallout. Its MICKEY!!

he comes across like a really genuine dude.
I didn’t really rate him prior, but I thought he was the most underappreciated act @ the tss x nr showcase. You could tell he was puttin everything into his performance, that’s endearing.
