A bit of an unexpected sound from Mr. Forte, but still a nice track overall. Most likely, John 3:16 is looking for anyway back in to “the biz” he can find, or that his PO allows, and maybe even a reinvented sound while he is at it. Still smooth like his raps always were, but now closer to a Ne-Yo than a Wyclef. None the less, it’s a good track to wake up to when your not feeling that early morning Slaughterhouse or M.O.P. vibe.
Whether this type of sound picks up for him is yet to be seen but I guess this is what we can expect from a drug smuggler turned professor who is now dropping science at the City College of New York.

He would be one of the last people I would think deserved one.
Forte was pardoned by Bush last November. Besides being college buddies with TalibKweli, John Forte is best friends with the son of Carly Simon, 70s singer whose also the daughter of the co-founder of Simon&Schuster. (aka the billion-dollar publishing giant/regular contributor to the RNC.)
In short, Forte got that mad hookup.

Forte’s also a prep school kid, right? Exeter, or some such. He’s got some GOP connects through his alumni network as well, I’m sure.
But you’re right, I’m sure Carly’s people have the most pull.
carly’s son is also James Taylor’s son, Ben Taylor. This is more the speed of songwriter, just like Ben. This song is decent. He had some strings pulled for him.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact he got pardoned for pushing mad weight, by what is regarded as one of the most unpopular Presidents in history.
