The past few months have been good to The Beastie Boys. There was the reissuing of Check Your Head, a successful showing @ Bonaroo and, just this past weekend, the single with Nas made a huge buzz on the nets.
But what a swift kick in the nuts this news is for a Monday morning.
Like I said, I watched My Sister’s Keeper last week, where one of the main characters had leukemia. As I was watching the movie, I started remembering the suffering that both of my grandfathers went through as they battled cancera, all before eventually succumbing to the disease. To say the least, the processes are gut wrenching, both physically for the patient as well as mentally & emotionally for the family. So when you hear someone diagnosed with the illness, your first reaction is to cringe…and then hope for the best in their fight against it.
With that said, prayers & well wishes to the Beastie Boys. We’ll keep you in our thoughts, MCA.

He’s lucky that it’s contained and that he caught it when he did. I have 2 friends that are dealing with this very thing right now…Freind A- Caught it fought it and is now cancer free and feeling fine. Friend B- not so lucky…that shit has spread and he is having a hell of a battle…Both are in their mid thirties.
Yaucht will beat it…
Prayers definitely go out to the legend. Better yet, prayers go out to anyone battling the disease.
I hope he beats it and continues rocking.

Thank God he found it early, hopes he has a full recovery.

damn, at least we know he should be fine. this is crazy though, it can happen to anyone.
damn good luck MCA.
Prayers and best wishes to Adam Yauch and all those who are fighting
F**k your website because it’s MCA giving this announcement, not Yauch (that was a joke DBAG). Hey admin get your story straight before posting, you hack.
Ch-ch-ch-ch-chee-check it out!(your prostate)
My brother had that Cancer, it’s very treatable and like he said in most cases its not life threatening or in his case career threatening…I have been down with the beasties since 1985! Much Love MCA!
