Andre 3000 - “Lookin’ 4 Ya”

There aren’t many things I want more in Hip-Hop than an Andre 3000 solo album. When and if I’ll ever be blessed with such an item, only Andre and whatever higher power you pray to actually know the answer. Found on DJ Envy and Tapemasters Inc.’s Purple Codeine 25, this track is exactly what you’d expect from 3K: a smooth instrumental, an even smoother hook and Dre’s seemingly effortless flow which he describes as “on some cool shit”. Regardless, just when I come close to accepting the fact that such a release is not possible, something like this leaks and you can color me anxious all over again.
And while we’re at it, another Outkast album wouldn’t be a bad look either. With only one half of UGK here to carry on their legacy, Three 6 Mafia doing whatever it is Three 6 Mafia does nowadays and 8Ball & MJG seemingly dormant, Hip-Hop, not just the South, needs that more than ever.

Overrated? Top nothing? No Catalog? (couple verses in the 2000’s) and some ok’ish on his old skool outkast’ish! He gets too much acclaim for little to no catalog…….dre > with beats than < Andree 3k with rappin and both are MIA!

trickz, watch your tone wit 3k.. little to no catalog? umm kay.. i cant remember him slackin on a verse, EVER. and i got every kast album. true ppl have jumped on his dick lately because of his dope features here and there, even jay says he is in his top five now, i wonder if hov would have said that in 1999 or even 2001, doubt it. anyway watch it playboy, because there are plenty of 3k fans from the southernplayaistic days and those kind of remarks wont get u far

…and yeah, he’s slightly overrated. He needs to step his solo catalog game up. It’s easy to sound nice when you’re the most talented member of a group.
yeha i wouldnt mind another love below cause the hardest niggas on my block was bumping roses and pink and blue…but andre 3000 on some aquemini shit is definitely needed in hip hop show the south isnt dance music and booty shaking…and its rap history goes deeper then t.i. and ludacris it wouldnt be neither one of them if it wasnt for Organized Noise Production, Goodie Mob, Kilo, and the other duos of the south….

Andre back at it, always had the crazy flow and crazy lyrics, although his tracks back in the day compare nothin to his tracks today he still knows how to get the listners attention, and if he comes out with a new album, ill be the first peron in front of the store to get it. BEST RAPPER ALIVE!

For those of you who can’t seem to get past 3000’s solo catalog — is it not quality over quantity? Jay-Z has amassed a huge catalog, but he’s never been in a group. Sorry, I didn’t get the memo that we were now dismissing all the great verses on group albums.

to cosign truetype, too many of these yougins now a days want quantity over quality. If one of 3stacks verses bests your fav rappers entire solo catalog why would 3stacks even need to make a solo album?
I’ll take a G.O.A.T.-esque verse from Dre over an album from most kats’ fav rapper any day. I’d get more substance outta 8 bars from 3k than most can manage to muster up over a 10 year career.

3k’s verse on da art of storytellin part 1 &2 are better than alot of shit that came out that year (1998).. also return of da G is incredible.
Andre is sooooo not overrated… u can compare 1 of his verses to a whole Jay-z or nas or lil wayne… he needs to go Solo im dien 4 a andre solo.. but another Outkast album would b great 2!!!
