These “World of Warcraft” videos have become quite the internet sensation the past few weeks, especially in the blog world (thanks to B. Dot). Myself, I’ve never been a huge video game fanatic. Case in point, I bought NBA 2K9 last fall and as of July 21, 2009, at 4:39 p.m., I’ve only played the game five times. No disrespect to any gamers out there, it’s just not my cup of tea. With that said however, I am eagerly awaiting the new Madden which I will likely play heavy for two weeks and forget it ever existed.

Anyway, a few months back I was shown a clip of a plan gone haywire, which I believe was from the infamous “World of Warfcraft.” As stated before, I am the furthest thing from a video game connoisseur, so please take my word with a grain of salt. Regardless, the comedic factor in this near three minute clip is through the roof thanks in part to the man, the myth, the legend, Leroy Jenkins. Having been viewed nearly 12 million times on YouTube, there is a good chance quite a few have already seen this clip and know what is about to ensue.

Personally, I can’t decide what’s funnier, Leroy’s intro or the fact that these guys actually had an in-depth game plan as how to conquer this level, equip with calculations and all. My aforementioned little brother, who works in a video game store, tell me tales of these type of people all the time when he’s playing Halo online. I just never believed they existed and took it THIS serious, at least until I saw this video. Above anything, one must admire L.J.’s courage to run into a battle field with what looks like flying horses with bat wings. It takes a real man to tackle creatures like that head on, even if the rest of his camp paces nervously on the other side of the door with their pointless rambling.

How dare they clown Leroy and his act of bravery with derogatory remarks such as “idiot” and “stupid.” I’m not sure how Congress’s agenda is looking nowadays, but I personally nominate myself as chairperson of the “Get Leroy Jenkins A Purple Controller” campaign.
