If Donuts changed your life then cop that Jay Stay Paid. We all know you can get the album for free, but Ms. Yancey, the executive producer of this album, doesn’t get paid that way. Yes, after I left the barbershop today, I went to the local Best Buy and made my purchase…in ready to expire Best Buy bucks, but still. That’s another notch on the sales register & another greenback for the cause.
And while I generally stay away from posting any Dilla audio (because the wolves come knockin’ @ my email door), here’s a handful of tracks that I’m assuming have the greenlight to be shared.
Download — J. Dilla Feat. Bun B. & Termanology – “Make It Fast”
Download — J. Dilla Feat. Havoc & Raekwon – “24K Rap”
Download — J. Dilla Feat. Black Thought – “Reality TV”
Also, here’s an aside which I forgot to share last week…
“House Shoes had his laptop stolen in front of Lafayette Coney Island around 3:30 am Sunday morning May 24th. keep an eye out for any random leaks of Dilla shit/Black Milk/Guilty/any Detroit shit. Email him immediately if you get a random email from any random cats. He is the torchbearer for Dilla. And above and beyond that there’s footage from his sons birth three months ago is on there. Black Macbook; Pretty clean.”
Word up. Shoes is extended family by way of LC. If you see it, holler.

The winner of Shoes laptop gets a free meet & greet with Trick Trick & Guilty Simpson. LC will write a piece about it.
^ replace the names Trick Trick & Guilty Simpson with the L and that laptop will turn up swiftly lol.
the crowd at Fat Beats LA was pretty big today for this…Blu & Diz Gibran over J. Dilla FTW!!!
^ fuck, if that were the case, I’d steal a random black MacBook & pass it off as Shoes’ just to meet ol’ girl.
She finer than baby hair
I was wondering if House Shoes ever got that laptop back…

I won’t be copping this, truth be told, but if they ever do the J-Dilla and John Carpenter Project then I’ll be copping that for sure.
It is rather apparent that some of J-Dilla’s production techniques were inpired by the music and movies of John Carpenter.
Its a great album for those who never heard any of Dilla’s beattapes.
Honestly I had higher expectations.. Im not sure how many of the mc’s that spit on Dillas beats he would approve if he was alive.
I’m coppin it though.. gotta stay on point with the Dilla vinyls.
i’m copping just for the artwork. that cover is sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
